I recently purchased a *K HD TV and had DirecTV install a new HD receiver and DVR received. When I ordered the upgrade I was not given the option decline the DVR. We did not have it before and we do not plan to record anything. The serviceman indicated that there is not a separate piece of equipment if you don't plan to record on the DVR. I also notice a charge for whole-home DVR service. We only use the one TV and never view anything on any other device. **Do we have to have the DVR receiver or can we receive the channels with just the separate HD receiver? We don't watch much TV so we only need to be able to view the shows at their regular viewing times.
GetHuman-gennutld did not yet indicate what DirecTV should do to make this right.
