My mother was in an assisted living facility last year. The facility she was in only used direct tv. When I was told it was a two year contract. I explained that at her age we couldn't promise * years. The rep told me under the circumstances if something happened we wouldn't have to pay for the * years. Unfortunately after mom fell for the *rd time and ended up in the hospital and rehab. She had to be moved to a different facility that didn't use direct tv. When I called to cancel I was told we wouldn't have to pay for the balance of the * years under the circumstances. The whole facility still had direct tv so it only applied to one room. I received a letter from a collection agency about a pass due amount over *** dollars. The bills apparently have been sent to the assistant living facility so we didn't even know about the problem. The facility forwarded the last letter or I still wouldn't know about this. It is next to impossible to talk to anyone at DirecTV unless you are willing to wait on hold for an hour or more . I need to talk to someone about this situation.
