I subscribed to the $1 until [redacted] membership offer at the gym, with the understanding that I could attend the grand opening to choose a monthly package with no contracts. Despite confirming this in text messages with the store manager in October, I decided not to visit the gym due to COVID-19 concerns. Surprisingly, I was charged $33.92 followed by an additional $54.07 in January, even after expressing my hesitation to join because of the pandemic. I reached out to the manager I previously communicated with, who explained she couldn't issue a refund but promised to contact corporate. It has been some time, and I have yet to receive any resolution or reimbursement. This situation is concerning, especially as I had not officially signed up for any membership or visited the gym as a precaution. I will be exploring this further with my clients to ensure they have not experienced similar unauthorized charges from Crunch Gym.

Hello, my name is Kristy Allen. In March, I visited the North Bergen Crunch Gym to cancel my membership due to moving. Despite speaking to an employee and believing I had filled out a cancellation form, I later discovered it was not processed. After the gym reopened, they began charging me, claiming I needed to come in person to cancel. Following confusion and unhelpful responses, I involved my credit card company, but issues persisted, leading to potential collections. After various attempts, including contacting the manager and learning about notarized letter requirements, I am still awaiting resolution. Given the poor conditions and unprofessionalism experienced, I am uncomfortable returning to the gym. As the manager has not responded, I hope for assistance in promptly resolving this unsettling situation. Your prompt attention would be greatly appreciated to address this ongoing matter. Thank you.

I had a membership at Crunch Fitness that I allowed to lapse, but during the pandemic, I requested it to be frozen. However, it was reactivated without my permission while Covid was still a concern in July. I reached out to cancel via phone and email, but received no reply. Recently, they texted me offering to resolve the issue with a $0 balance if I continued my membership, but I couldn't process it online. Later, I received a collections notice from First Credit Services for the full amount. The gym manager promised to waive the fee if I signed up again, but when I visited, he couldn't locate the necessary paperwork. I declined and requested the GM to contact me instead. Any suggestions? I attempted to contact the corporate office without success.

I am experiencing issues with the PT department at Crunch in Bloomingdale. I submitted a form to stop payments for personal training from being withdrawn from my checking account in late [redacted] or early [redacted], assuming it was processed. Recently, I discovered that Crunch has been deducting $[redacted].00 every two weeks. Despite contacting Jake, the PT manager, he claimed I signed a form to continue PT, which is incorrect. The PT trainer, who witnessed me filling out the discontinuation form, confirmed my actions. Jake has failed to respond to my calls and has not sent the form or contract copy as promised. It has been a week, and I am still waiting. I submitted a payment stop request and demanded a refund for the unauthorized charges around two weeks ago, but I have not received any resolution. I am hopeful that someone will investigate this matter promptly and respond accordingly.

I am experiencing issues with my online app. I reached out to the staff at the London South location who mentioned they couldn't assist me. I was surprised by the response, as I rely on the app to book my sessions promptly. Moreover, I was taken aback by the inappropriate comments made by a staff member, referring to my condition and intelligence. I strongly believe this behavior is unacceptable from employees. I am requesting a thorough investigation into the conduct of the staff members involved. My aim is not only to ensure better treatment as a customer but also to safeguard individuals with disabilities from such mistreatment in the future. Thank you for addressing this matter promptly. Regards, Francessco Franzei

I was approached by the manager of a new gym in Wichita Falls who proposed a partnership for a giveaway. After setting up the arrangement, we exchanged text messages, where she offered me a $1 membership for the remainder of [redacted]. Due to the ongoing pandemic, I expressed my concerns and decided not to continue the membership at that time. Despite this, I was charged $33.92 and then $54.07 without authorization. The manager referred me to corporate for the issue. After numerous attempts to resolve the situation with no response, I am left feeling frustrated. The lack of customer support from the company's corporate office is unacceptable. I have tried reaching out multiple times without success, being placed on hold for extended periods or directed to leave a message. This experience has been a complete disappointment, and I am considering taking further action if not resolved promptly.

Hello, my name is Moises V. I have been a loyal Crunch member for many years. Today, at the Crunch gym on 2nd Ave. in 59th Street, I forgot my barcode at home. When I explained my situation to the person at the front desk and asked for help, she requested an ID which I had also left at home. Usually, the friendly staff at Crunch 59th St East have assisted me in these situations by locating me in the system. Unfortunately, today, the girl at the front desk was very rude and refused to help me. I politely inquired if she was new, as the staff have always been helpful before, but she reacted harshly. The manager was nearby, and despite my attempt to explain, I was not allowed to enter the gym and was even asked to leave. This was a disappointing experience after being a patron for so long. I had to travel to another location at 3rd Ave and 81st where I didn't encounter any issues.

During my recent visit to my bank on 3/16/[redacted], I discovered a recurring charge of $10.00 per month from Crunch on my account since [redacted]. Despite not being a member of Crunch, I visited the local Crunch fitness to address this issue. Upon speaking to a young man claiming to be a manager, I explained my situation with the Silver Sneakers card. Another individual, Vince, interrupted with information on using the card for multiple fitness centers, which wasn't my immediate concern. When Vince accused me of being unruly and claimed I was yelling, I requested his name. The other employee, possibly Dylan, clarified that my membership cancellation with You Fit had likely caused the confusion. I found the encounter at Crunch in Roswell off Holcomb Bridge Rd. to be unpleasant and would appreciate an apology from the corporate or franchise office representative. Thank you, Betty Bean.

I was surprised by a recent charge from Crunch gyms as I was not informed about the restart of charges. After contacting them to cancel, I was instructed to fill out an online form promptly. Despite sending multiple emails over a week, it took some time to get a response and have my membership canceled. Unfortunately, they are refusing to refund the unexpected charge. I no longer reside or work near the gym and do not plan to use it, especially during these times. If this matter remains unresolved, I will seek a different gym for my future membership needs, avoiding Crunch altogether.

To whom it may concern, I am reaching out regarding an issue at your Warren, Michigan facility. My fiancée and I signed up for a free day pass online to visit and work out at your location on 5/12/21. My fiancée received a call from an employee named Tyler, but he was working and couldn't talk at that moment. We called the Warren facility to speak with Tyler to let him know that I have a disability and a certified service dog. We explained that the dog had tags and a small carrying case no larger than a small gym bag. Unfortunately, Tyler bluntly refused entry to my service animal. I tried to inform him of my rights to have my service animal with me at all times, but he still denied access. Even after speaking to his manager at 4:30 pm on 5/12/21, Tyler informed us that my service animal could not enter the facility. This discriminatory treatment has left me very upset as I have never faced such behavior before at any other business or location. I urge you to address this matter urgently given its sensitivity.

When I joined Crunch in December, I specifically requested a month-to-month membership because I was only staying at that location for 6 months. During the sign-up process, everything seemed fine, but later, I was informed there was an error and needed to speak to a manager. I raised the concern about my account and the manager confirmed I had a month-to-month membership. However, during my recent visit, I was surprised to learn I was on a year-long contract and had to pay a buyout fee. I am positive I did not agree to a year-long contract.

I'm experiencing difficulties and hope this is where I can find a solution. I paid $1,[redacted] on 3/12/[redacted] for an 18-month Crunch membership starting in April [redacted]. Due to COVID and my relocation, I pre-paid before the gym closed in March [redacted]. I've provided a certified letter, lease proof, emails, and calls, meeting all requests, but only received $[redacted].98 as a refund. The gym has kept $[redacted].02 without cause. I never used the gym due to its closure. Seeking help for a full $[redacted].02 refund, the amount they're withholding for a service I couldn't access. I paid for a full membership but received only partial.

I signed up last Wednesday, and on Monday, the general manager approached me and told me I had 30 minutes to leave. When I asked why, he explained that I had been here for 11 hours, and long periods like that were not allowed. I argued that I had the right to be there based on my membership and that I hadn't violated any agreements or laws. Despite this, he threatened to call the police. As I was leaving, he demanded my Crunch scanner, claiming I wouldn't be allowed in the gym anymore. He proceeded to revoke my membership simply because I refused to leave due to the length of time I had been at the gym.

The local gym recently made a decision to terminate my trainer, but my concern lies with the lack of communication from the Manager of the PT at the Waterford Michigan location. Despite waiting for a week, she falsely claimed to have reached out to all the trainer's clients, which prompted me to confront her about the lie. Unfortunately, her response was dismissive and rude, leading me to reconsider my training relationship with the gym due to her unprofessional behavior. I trust that as a business, you aim to retain clients, but Sue's demeanor has driven me to end my training sessions. I would appreciate it if my cancellation reason is updated to accurately reflect that it is a result of the PT manager's actions, not the trainer. It's disheartening that one employee's conduct can taint the reputation of the entire location. Hopefully, the management will address these issues before I decide to sever all ties with the gym.

I sustained an injury during my complimentary personal training session within the first 5 minutes. The following day, I visited my chiropractor who can verify this. My chiropractor urged me to avoid that specific exercise going forward, despite my initial reluctance to engage in it. I felt pressured into it by condescending behavior. The conduct of the staff at this facility is disappointing. Unfortunately, the manager is only available from noon onwards, making it difficult to address concerns promptly. I did not even request a personal trainer; it felt like I was being ordered around, based on my gender, which is unacceptable. I am considering terminating my membership, but I am being informed of a $[redacted].00 charge. Due to my husband's job loss during the pandemic, financial constraints are present as I strive to provide nutritious meals for my family. I am disappointed that I am unable to cancel without this penalty. Nonetheless, I am determined not to dwell on this negative experience. Despite having paid for a year-long membership primarily to utilize the treadmill, my preferences were not considered, and decisions were made for me. It is crucial for the management to address these issues and improve the situation at this location in my community. Observing the low engagement on the Facebook page, with a mere [redacted] followers and minimal interaction from actual clients, it is evident that improvements are necessary. In light of these circumstances, I may seek an alternative gym membership.

While waiting to use the squat rack at the Santa Clarita club, I encountered a situation with two girls using the booty blaster before potentially using the squat rack. Despite my waiting, they attempted to proceed to the squat rack once it became available. I believe there should be a clear rule to address this, ensuring those who were already using equipment while waiting don't skip ahead of those who have been patiently waiting their turn.

In September [redacted], I signed up with Crunch with the agreement of being charged $9.95 a month plus tax, adding up to $10.60. However, Crunch has been consistently overcharging me $12.65 a month for over a year, which amounts to a $2 overcharge every month. I have reached out to my local branch, but they have not been able to resolve the issue or offer any compensation. Additionally, in April, I should have only been charged a partial month due to my local gym being closed, but Crunch charged me the full amount. I am seeking a credit for these overcharges. Initially, a staff member from my local Crunch in Bradenton, FL, acknowledged the error and mentioned I was owed over $50. They offered to waive my membership fees for 5 months, totaling $50. However, despite this promise, I have not seen any adjustments on my account even after 10 months have passed. I am hoping for a resolution to this situation promptly.

To whom it may concern, My name is Hasanna Johnson. I was a member at Crunch Gym in Steamtown Mall, Scranton, Pennsylvania, but due to the gym's hours not aligning with my availability, I was charged an annual fee for another year unexpectedly despite not wanting to continue my membership. Even though I spoke with Brad, the manager at Crunch Gym, and he assured me that he canceled my account and initiated a refund, it has been over a month and a half with no refund received. I am frustrated by the lack of communication and the poor customer service experience I encountered when trying to follow up. I am reaching out for assistance in resolving this promptly. You can contact me at [redacted] or [redacted]. I expected a timely refund process and am concerned by the delay and the unauthorized charge. Your urgent attention to this matter is appreciated. Thank you, H. Johnson

I have been a member of this gym for 5 years, initially with a different gym name, and they always had my correct email and physical address on file. When my bank card expired, they did not notify me about the payment issue. Instead, they accumulated over $[redacted] in overdue charges and passed my information to a collections agency. I wish they had informed me about the billing problem, as I would have promptly resolved it. With the gym closures due to the pandemic, this slipped my mind during the card transition. It is frustrating to deal with this situation, especially since I was unaware of the issue. I now have to dispute this with the credit bureaus. The lack of communication and difficulty reaching someone at the gym to discuss this matter is disappointing.

Due to my daughter's rare health condition, I was unable to utilize or cancel my membership. Despite this, when I went to cancel, I was informed I couldn't avoid the monthly fee for "canceling late." I have proof verifying my inability to use the membership. But now, I'm receiving emails with conflicting amounts that I supposedly owe versus what's being debited. I'm requesting that the late fee and any remaining balance be waived, and my account closed promptly.
