I tried posting this earlier, but don't know if it went through. I just had my old AMEX card hacked, so had to cancel it and get a new one. That took about * days (this happened last Friday). I contacted two of the companies who automatically deduct their fees. There was one international Skype account for $*.***month that I tried to opt out of, but couldn't figure out how. My credit union told me that they would make sure, as a result, that Skype was no longer able to deduct it. I'm guessing that that's what happened* however, if there had been a way for me to stop it, I would have. It's not fair to have my credit rating drop when I spent at least ** minutes trying to get this account deleted.
