The issue in GetHuman3671970's own words
Hello, my name is Christy. I have been looking on craigslist for a apartment and yesterday I found one that was almost to good to be true. So I called the number to schedule the viewing and the man I spoke to just seemed very off. I ignored it thinking he may be handicapped or a little slow and went ahead and scheduled a time and the address of the potential apartment. A few hours later he texted my phone and said he just wanted me to know the only term was that I had to pay three months ahead of time and that I had to send him a valid New York State identification and a most current pay stub for proof of work and even though we were scheduled to meet the following day ( which would of been today) he needed me to text him pictures of both tonight ( which was yesterday) so he could go ahead and start the process before we met. Then he proceeded to tell me that he would only collect the deposits and future rent through Apple Pay... he was texting me all of this at approximately ** am when we initially spoke on the phone about time and meeting place that afternoon and then was texting me that hours later. I immediately thought it was a scam. I didn’t let on that I knew that I had thought he was a con artist and simply told him my fianc* was sleeping and couldn’t find his pay stub or identification and I would text him first thing in the morning when my fianc* awoke. Since early this morning I’ve received numerous texts from him trying to get me to send him the requested info. I’ve saved all messages from him and also have the link to the ad. I’m not positive it is a scam and would never send the info requested but my fear is that someone else will be taken advantage of and fall victim if it is a scam. I’m writing this email to see if someone from your fraud team can just look into this matter. You can reach me at *** *** ****. Thank you for your time
