We have been without telephone service since sometime Monday ****. I talked to a customer service representative on Tuesday and was advised that due to some sort of maintenance or repair service on the cell tower in Turner, OR our service would be out until Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. In the meantime my wife and I are unable to make or receive phone calls. We are having to use other phones to call out. My wife had major surgery on ********* and we need to be able to contact doctors and pharmacies as well as other persons. We have two cell phone lines and a home phone line on our account. I think we should be able to expect some sort of compensation for this down time. We also would appreciate some explanation as to why were not notified in advance of this down time. Thank you

How GetHuman-garu fixed the problem
It turned out that the problem was caused by Consumer Cellular having switched from an AT&T network to T-Mobile. I had to take my home base unit along with both of our cell phones to Target and have the SIM cards switched. The tech at Target was not able to check and be sure that the SIM in the home unit was working so I had to bring it back home and try it out. It never did activate so I called CC again and was told that the SIM card was inserted incorrectly and would have to be replaced. They sent a replacement card which arrived ****. I called CC once more and with help from a tech got the SIM card inserted. The home base unit is still not working. My wife and I are debating whether to get landline service through another provider or give up the landline altogether and use cell phones only.
