Hello, I recently applied for a temporary layoff with my company and completed the online information. However, upon noticing that my payments were not being received, I checked the online details and found an error in my DIRECT DEPOSIT information. Two payments for January were made with incorrect ROUTING bank instructions. I corrected the information online today. Will the past two payments be resubmitted to the correct account now, or do I need to contact someone specifically? My name is Dawn Kocot. You can reach me at [redacted] or [redacted]. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. Dawn K.

Hello, my name is Willie Coleman, last four [redacted]. I've applied for unemployment and was approved for a weekly rate of $[redacted], totaling approximately $[redacted]. I received a letter indicating an 8-day hold on my benefits until I provided previous employment information for the prior year. Shortly after, I received another letter from the agency with the required details, so I assumed everything was in order and did not send further documents. However, my status remains on hold. I had a similar issue last year, where after a long delay, I discovered that it was due to an operator error. I appreciate your assistance. Thank you for your time. Willie Coleman

I was initially planning to return to work during my school break but later decided to change that date after discussing it with my employer and getting their approval. However, when I tried to file for unemployment, the system kept showing an error stating that I am unauthorized to file despite accepting my pin. I was informed that I would have a hearing regarding the change in my return to work date and was advised to continue filing until then. Surprisingly, my employer never mentioned that I was required to work during the summer, and this job is my primary source of income until regular work resumes. I recently found out that I have a hearing scheduled for July 27th. Today, when I checked my unemployment status, it states that I have been disqualified indefinitely, leaving me confused about the reasons behind it considering my work history. I have never worked during the summer while being employed in school transportation roles before.

Dear Forum Members, I would like to share my experience with a recent unemployment claim. After my last day of work on July 20, [redacted], I submitted a claim for unemployment benefits. On 7/24/18, I received an email confirming that my claim had been processed. It mentioned that my claim was on hold for eight days while they verified my employment status with my former employer(s). Since then, I have not received any updates, and I am struggling to reach a representative for clarification. I am concerned about missing out on the opportunity to collect my benefits. I am only claiming benefits for the weeks of 7/23-7/27, 7/30-8/3, and 8/6-8/10, as I have secured new employment starting on 8/13. I would appreciate any advice on how to proceed further. Thank you for your help. Best regards, Hannah C.

Last Friday, on 3/8/19, I received a voicemail from Angela regarding my Unemployment severance/vacation survey hearing. She left her first name but not her last name and instructed me to return her call by the following Tuesday. I tried calling the number provided 18 times on Monday, 3/11, only to reach an automated message stating she was unavailable and not taking messages. Despite attempting to speak to an operator by pressing "0," I still could not reach a live person. This lack of human interaction in the Department of Labor process is frustrating as this hearing is crucial for my unemployment benefits. It's now Tuesday, 3/12, 9:54 AM, and I've been continuously calling with no success. The system's automation has left me feeling like I'm stuck in a loop. The Connecticut Department of Labor needs to address this issue promptly as it's impacting people's essential needs. #Frustrated

I am struggling to submit a claim as I keep receiving an error message saying there are incomplete sections, specifically about acknowledgments, even though I have filled in all the required information. After researching online, I realized I never received a question about tax deductions. I have attempted to contact support for three days, spending over three hours on hold, with no luck reaching anyone or finding a solution online. I have carefully reviewed each screen multiple times, starting over a few times due to timeouts. I kindly ask for assistance to resolve this issue promptly so I can submit my claim.

I worked for a company for four years, averaging 38 hours per week. Additionally, I have a self-employment job with a printing company as a [redacted] subcontractor, working four hours per week. Unfortunately, I was laid off on May 15, [redacted], and have started receiving unemployment compensation. I reported earning $[redacted].00 for each of the past two weeks from my self-employment work. I am concerned about how this additional job might affect my unemployment benefits. If not for the subcontractor job, I would receive the maximum benefit based on my previous payroll earnings. I have had this self-employment job for 15 years at the same hours per week. Will the $[redacted].00 I earn from this job impact my unemployment benefits calculation, even though I had this job before the lay off?

Hi, I've been working full-time for my employer for a year and a half. Last week, my manager and HR put me on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) with a 30, 60, 90-day timeframe. I work as a Senior Project Engineer and was informed that I am one of the top-paid employees. Although my performance was good last year, this year's review seems different, even though I believe I am doing similar tasks. This situation is new to me, and I would like to schedule an appointment in your office to get guidance on how to handle it properly. I fear I might be terminated at the end of the PIP. Can I schedule a meeting for Monday (6/10)? I am based in Connecticut.

Hello, I submitted an interstate claim three weeks ago. I am located in Florida. I have received a few emails stating that my claim is under process. The latest message instructed me to file on Sunday, June 9. When I tried to file, the system states that I did not file for the previous week, redirecting me to www.filectui.com. However, when I visit the website and attempt to file, I receive the same message repeatedly. I have attempted to contact various phone numbers without success, as everything seems to be automated. I am unsure of the next steps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, EDC

I currently reside in Indiana but am submitting a claim through Connecticut Unemployment. I submitted my claim on June 26th and I am looking to obtain further details regarding the status of its approval. I have been unable to reach a live representative. I attempted using the 2-1-1 prompt recommended on this website, but the call disconnects before connecting me to a live person. I have exhausted all my online options. I am seeking direct assistance from a live agent to address my inquiries. Thank you.

I need assistance regarding my recent unemployment claims. Over the past few weeks, my job has had limited work due to new equipment installations. On the week of 9/15-9/21, I collected benefits. The following week, 9/22-9/28, I worked, so I claimed the entire week. As the plant was closed the week of 9/29-10/5, I filed my continued claim normally but also filed a new claim for that week. However, I noticed a potential issue marked with an "H" in my inquiry for that week. My primary concern is for the week of 10/5, as I didn't work and am unsure if I made an error in my filings.

I've submitted my claim four times since being out of work the entire October [redacted]. I filed my claim for the week ending in November 2, and it's on hold. I don't know why. I'm still not working, and I have bills to pay like everyone else. Why can't I talk to someone like a human about it? It's ridiculous. They can't even tell me why I can't get my own money that I worked for because everything is done online, which is not helpful for individuals on unemployment.

Yesterday, on 12/1/[redacted], I submitted my unemployment claim. Later in the day, I noticed it didn't appear to go through, so I submitted it again. Now, my claim is on hold due to the duplicate entries I made. The second submission was unintentional as I wasn't certain if the first one was successful. How can I resolve this issue and remove the duplicate entry to release my unemployment claim from hold? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

On November 15, [redacted], my hours at EdAdvance were reduced from 40 to 25. Despite this change, I worked full-time until November 15th. I submitted an application for unemployment insurance on 11/10/19. However, given that I had been working full-time until November 15th, I did not file my weekly claim on Sunday, November 17th. This may have caused an error in the amount of money I received, as I only got $2.00 per week instead of the expected $[redacted]. I am unable to reach a person via the phone system, so I kindly request that this matter be looked into and clarification provided. Thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, Mary C.

I have been seasonally laid off and need to collect unemployment benefits, but I am facing issues with the automated system and lack computer skills to resolve them online. In the past, I resolved a similar problem by speaking to a representative at the unemployment office in Connecticut, where I explained my seasonal work situation dating back to [redacted]. They were able to help me by making adjustments and waving penalties, requiring me to visit the main office to sign a document and pay taxes. However, in [redacted], due to financial difficulties and a work injury that led to a long recovery period, I ended up owing money to the unemployment office. Despite my efforts to explain and seek clarification in person, I received a bill for $5,[redacted], which was unaffordable given my circumstances. Now that I am laid off again and need assistance, I am struggling to communicate with a real person for guidance as the bills keep increasing. I hope to find a resolution without the need to travel to a distant office in Connecticut, as it is a significant journey from Massachusetts.

On March 18th, I created an unemployment account. I got an email saying I couldn't file a weekly claim until the application was reviewed. I was waiting for a confirmation email that the claim was processed. On March 28, I finally received the confirmation and was expecting to file my weekly claim starting the following Sunday. However, when I tried to do that, I encountered a message stating I wasn't authorized to file a continued claim. I couldn't find a phone number to contact the office for help. The number provided advises against calling for unemployment questions. I need the correct phone number for the CT unemployment office to resolve this issue with a representative.

Hello, I am in need of assistance with my unemployment claim. My mother and I filed together for my job as a daycare teacher. My employer had to lay me off until the children return to the daycare. I followed the instructions my boss provided, marking the lay off as temporary and inputting 4/15/[redacted] as the return to work date. However, I am uncertain if this was done correctly, as my colleagues are receiving different information. I will not be returning to work on 4/15/[redacted], and at present, I do not have a confirmed return date. I am currently unemployed and seeking benefits to cover my expenses until I can go back to work. I have been attempting to reach out for assistance without success. If there is a phone number I can contact for help or a method to update my unemployment claim, please advise.

My claim for the week ending 3/28 is on hold with Message Code: [redacted] indicating a potential issue. The message directs me to visit www.filectui.com, but I cannot find any information on the website. When I call the main number, I keep getting redirected back to the website. A few weeks after I began claiming benefits, I took on part-time work, which I reported each week until I stopped working on the week ending 3/28 due to COVID-19. I am unsure how to resolve this. Can anyone advise on who to contact to address this hold on my claim?

I have been receiving unemployment benefits for the past six months. Recently, I started a part-time job at Kindred Homecare in Old Saybrook, CT. However, due to COVID-19, new hires like myself are unable to work until the pandemic is over. My payments have been on hold for the past three weeks, and I believe Kindred Homecare needs to confirm that I am not currently working. My old unemployment claim is almost depleted, and I am unsure how to file a claim related to COVID-19. Can I still receive partial benefits if I find a new job? I have heard about the additional $[redacted] per week under COVID-19 relief - can I potentially get this on top of my regular benefits? How long will it take to receive my back payments? Thank you.

I applied for unemployment a few weeks back due to the state shutdown. Later, the governor declared factory work essential, but allowed us to choose not to work if we weren't comfortable or if our kids were home from school, which is my situation. After a couple of silent weeks, I was finally approved and received my first payments yesterday. My workplace has a paid leave program that pays 66%, and I've used 10 hours of that. I informed my HR about my unemployment approval and the need to cancel the other program. She advised me to check if I needed to repay unemployment since the company is operating. I'm puzzled as to why I would have to repay unemployment if I'm eligible. I'm unable to reach a live person which is frustrating. I'm looking for guidance on the best course of action for my family. Thank you for your help.
