I was raising the low credit limits they had before just in time for my amex card zero percent intro apr to come to an end this December. They gladly did it and then * days later closed all my accounts! ... I am so extremely upset. I opened six store cards all through Comenity bank. The six cards totaled over twelve grand in CL. I had opened all the cards over * years ago and barely used them so its understandable they would close them, thinking I wouldnt ever use them. But I actually shop at all * of these stores very frequently! already having * bank credit cards I carry around I wasn't going to carry around all **, that would be ridiculous. And tbh the main reason I didnt use them was because I would leave them at home! and another reason is I have an american express card with zero% APR until Dec so I was obviously more inclined to take advantage of that. But the thing is that intro apr is coming to an end so thinking ahead I called comenity and they gave me HUGE credit increases on all my cards! before I called they totalled six grand and I got them in total raised to twelve grand! This excited me because I make a lot of LARGE purchase at these stores and the reason I did the CL increases now is I actually planned on using the cards now that the amex intro APR is over! Why wouldnt I when you get discounts at said stores for using them and like I said these are some of my favorite stores. Well the strangest part, to me at least, I am pretty new to the credit card game, was that * days after giving me all these increases they canceled every card!!!! No warning or nothing. I talked to a supervisor and they said comenity NEVER reopens accounts due to inactivity but I have read many threads online of them getting the cards reopened. I have good credit so I might be able to get new cards but like I said I have had all these * years already and dont want it to destroy my average age of account..... I was thinking about writing a letter? I just really really want these accounts reopened because I shop at them all very frequently. My amex statements will prove that, and obviously having * accounts closed did a number on my credit... Please help, please! :'(
They don't realize that I had FULL INTENTIONS to use all these cards for a long time, probably the next ** years. I had no idea that there was even a chance this would happen! I would have used the cards every single month if I knew you might close them :( I actually shop at these stores and will continue to. I have all the proof that I have if its necessary. I am young, new to credit and I had no idea that this sort of thing would happen. I got talked into the cards by the reps at the stores because I am always there!
I will do ANYTHING for you to reconsider reopening these accounts and understand I have learned my lesson and It will never ever happen again and I would be so appreciative I will make sure to make every purchase at said stores with my credit card! That was my plan when asking for all the credit limits a couple weeks ago. If you would like to start me at super low credit limits and let me prove myself to you not only am I totally ok with that. But I Insist! I want to prove that I am a serious buyer! I have good credit scores and one hundred percent on time payments. PLEASE make an exception for me. You won't regret it!
I am a good customer because I spend at least two grand a year at each one of these stores, and at least four grand at Wayfair and I have all the proof in the world of this. So although I understand where you are coming from, it would behoove you to give me another chance. I have definitely learned my lesson and will NEVER leave cards inactive again. This has been so upsetting for me.
I called very upset when I got the news and they told me that they NEVER reopen closed account due to inactivity. After the rep told me that I have done lots of research on the matter and although it is rare and Ill be extremely lucky if it happens, it can and does happen in certain situations. I beg you for a second chance! Lesson learned.
I have an issue with Comenity Bank too
