I had a terrible time at this restaurant. I went in before the whole crowd of valentines couples, when there wasn’t even a wait time to be seated. We ordered and other people were seated around us. Someone behind us had a bad order and the manager came out to apologize to them, fix the situation. We noticed that the people who just sat down, started getting their food, all * tables, ** minutes later, still no food. We asked our waiter, who sends out the manager, who gives no apology, doesn’t try to fix the situation, just says “oh we’re backed up, it’s Valentine’s Day what do you expect?” (We would have been understanding IF people who had just been seated *-** after us, didn’t get their food already, THAT’S being backed up. OR if there were a huge line of people waiting to get in, with ** min wait time with very little staff, that’s being backed up.) We gave him no trouble just asking if our food was okay. “Do you know what day it is, it’s gonna be busy.” He just shrugs and walks away. Later when it came to paying, the Kiosk was having an issue and he didn’t seem like he even wanted to help*go to our table, but he reluctantly came, fixed it really fast and took off, no words exchanged, no apology for earlier, no questions, pleasantries, just took off fast with barely enough time for me to thank him. The manager was a joke and really ruined the experience. I don’t know if it’s because we look young and he thought were just a bunch of teenagers, what does it matter, but we’re not, we’re adults, paying customers just like everyone else, expecting great customer service just the same, regardless of age*size*race*etc,. We dine at that Chili’s since it’s near our home, I’ve experienced a busy day multiple times, with excellent customer service. I’ve been during holidays and yet I still had a great experience. That manager had no excuse to be so dismissive of us and reluctant to help. He couldn’t have been “sooo busy” like he said, when he just kept walking around, staring at people, talking, and hiding. If he had really been backed up like he claims, why didn’t he step up as manager to help out his staff. Idk if that manager is new, but he really needed a refresher on empathy, customer service, and managerial skills. This experience happened at **** SE military drive, *****. At *-*pm.
