The issue in GetHuman-wegan's own words
Our remote (recently replaced by your repair person) is not responding to our input. We changed the batteries with brand new ones last night. No difference!*We lost sound AND the ability to change channels this past evening. We noticed that the sound works on our head phones only. When attempting to change the sound level with the remote, it does not show the corresponding increase*decrease number on the screen like it always did.*The evening before that (Tuesday) we had a brief sound outage but, it came back a few moments later. Last night we tried disconnecting and rebooting the tv as suggested in the past by your repair people but, to no avail.
GetHuman-wegan did not yet indicate what Charter Communications should do to make this right.
