I received a telephone call yesterday evening purporting to be from Century Link about my recent service request. Since I have had no recent service request, I did not speak with anyone.**This morning when I attempted to speak with a representative about this, I asked to have employee ID information so that I could verify that I was speaking with Century Link. The employee refused to give me that information saying "for security purposes he could not".**He was the second "representative" that I had been transferred to. The first gave me his name as Amed and an employee number of AC*****. I told him that I would call Century Link and attempt to verify his information. I then was transferred to the second person who refused to give me his employee information. I was unable to verify that it was indeed Centruy Link that I was speaking with this morning, and completely unable to investigate the call received yesterday evening.**On March * I also received a telephone call from someone purporting to be from Century Link to test my modem. I was then transferred to the billing department to discuss a possible refund for interrupted service. This turned out to be completely fraudulent. It has been reported to local and state law enforcement.**I am quite frustrated by the difficulty in communicating with Century Link. I also suspect that another fraud may be being perpetrated. The telephone call purporting to be from Century Link was received at *:** pm yesterday evening. An unusual time I thought.**If I am unable to have this matter clarified to my satisfaction I may have to terminate service with Century Link.
