I own a [redacted] Toyota Hybrid Camry that I bought from a dealer with 8,[redacted] miles on it. It has been accident-free except for one insurance claim on 09-02-18 for a windshield replacement due to a rock from a truck. However, Carfax erroneously shows a damage report from Indiana on 01-25-[redacted], which never occurred. The VIN is correct on the Carfax report, but the information is inaccurate. Currently, we are encountering an issue with one of the doors, which is covered under warranty. To address this, we need to have the incorrect information removed from Carfax to ensure Toyota will cover the repair.

I recently had an oil change at Valvoline Instant Oil in Canal Winchester, Ohio on 5/13/19. They mistakenly listed the mileage as 25,[redacted] instead of the correct 45,[redacted]. I noticed this error because I am selling the vehicle and it now has approximately 47,[redacted] mi. Valvoline has tried to correct this with Carfax since 6/18/19, but they have been unsuccessful. They suggested I reach out to Carfax as well. My name is William Dials, and the vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler Sahara. I hope to resolve this issue promptly to provide the new buyer with an accurate Carfax report. Thank you for your assistance.

I received a text from a potential buyer for my motorcycle who claimed to have driven 30 miles to see a bike in Bakersfield. After I paid $99.95 for a Carfax report, the buyer stopped responding to my messages and phone calls. I suspect this person might be a scammer associated with a service that charges fees for referrals. His email address seemed suspicious: www.reliableautorecords.com/vqacnBd/[redacted] I am unable to cancel the six-car deal on the website and now request a refund promptly. If not resolved, I will consider taking legal action. His phone number is [redacted].

I bought a vehicle in [redacted], financing most of it after putting some money down. Recently, I went to a dealership to check its worth and they shared a Carfax report showing the car had structural damage from an accident before I purchased it. Oddly, the Carfax only shows the accident until January [redacted], and then it reappears in September that year when the vehicle was offered for sale by the company I bought it from in December [redacted]. There's no information on what happened to the car between the accident and when it was sold to me. The dealership didn't disclose this when I purchased it, and Carfax only made it public in [redacted]. I'm wondering why this missing 8-month period isn't reported and how I can find out the history for that time frame. It's confusing that the source of the vehicle isn't disclosed in the report but only when it was up for sale.

I recently purchased a [redacted] Nissan Frontier from Freedom Auto Sales in Chantilly, VA, which was advertised as accident-free on CarGurus and CarFax. After using the truck only a few times, we noticed issues with the air conditioning and antifreeze leaking inside the tire. When we took it to Pohanka Nissan, they discovered it had been wrecked and many parts had been replaced with aftermarket ones not covered by Nissan's warranty. Pohanka advised us to return the truck and get a refund. However, when we tried to address this with Freedom Auto Sales, we encountered resistance and delays. The salesman initially mentioned a partnership and then claimed we needed to speak to the owner who was unavailable. This situation has left us with a non-functional truck and no resolution from the dealership despite multiple attempts to contact them.

I am writing about a situation involving a [redacted] GMC Denali that had some damage during a car wash. The customer is now pursuing a claim for diminished value, and the matter is heading to court. Despite a repair cost of $[redacted] that made the scratch under the antenna practically invisible, the customer is still seeking $3k in compensation for diminished value. The CAR FAX report indicates damage to the right front area without much detail on how it occurred. The customer had a maintenance check at Jim Ellis dealer later. The judge denied the initial expert diminished value report presented by the customer. Now, the person who provided the report is being summoned to court. The situation has become complex, and I am unsure of the next steps. - Frank

I have a customer with a GMC Denali Crew Cab truck that was damaged during a car wash. Despite our excellent repair job, the customer is now pursuing a diminished value claim, causing quite a disagreement. The repair cost us $****, but the scratch is barely noticeable now. The customer insists on a diminished value compensation of $*. CAR FAX reported the damage but did not provide specifics, indicating it might not have been from an accident. The customer even had an expert report denied by the judge. Now, they plan to subpoena the expert to court. I feel stuck in this situation and unsure how to proceed. I hope CAR FAX can reconsider their approach to reporting damages and remove this incident from the customer's record. - Frank

Dear Forum Members, I am Jason Wareiczuk, the VP of Skyline Auto Center, a used car dealer. I purchased a [redacted] Nissan Altima with the Vehicle Identification Number 1N4AL3AP2HC207529 at a Manheim Auction in FLL on 8/14/19. After acquiring the vehicle, I received a report that highlighted an accident history. However, when I tried to return the vehicle based on this report, I was informed that there were no issues other than the accident, which was not sufficient grounds for return. I have diligently followed up on this matter by visiting the DMV in Florida and conducting a national check. No salvage, reconstructed, or rebuilt title was found during these checks. The vehicle's title, originating from North Carolina, was repossessed by the lienholder, and both the original and current titles are clean. Although the car had been in an accident, it has been fully repaired and is in excellent working condition. I am seeking clarification from Carfax and requesting the removal of any salvage title designation, as both titles associated with this vehicle are clean. This adjustment is necessary for me to proceed with the resale of the car. I have shared the necessary documentation via our company email [redacted] for your review. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards, Jason Wareiczuk Skyline Auto Center

I suspect fraudulent activity in the sale of the car I bought after reviewing the Carfax report. The report only shows a smog test from March [redacted], but I have a receipt from May [redacted]. Soon after driving the car for less than 20 miles, the check engine light illuminated with four codes. This indicates potential manipulation of the check engine light and fraudulent passing of a smog test. I wonder why the latest smog test wasn't included in the Carfax report. Moreover, I bought the car from a private seller who claimed to have acquired it from an auction, but the Carfax report does not mention any auction history. Does the absence of auction details imply it was never auctioned? Shouldn't an auction sale be reported and reflected in the Carfax report? Furthermore, the Carfax states there were two owners who both used the car personally, contradicting the seller's claim of auction purchase and the sales receipt showing at least four previous owners. Can someone clarify this inconsistency in the Carfax report for me?

I am Nguyen. I purchased a car in [redacted] with a Carfax guarantee indicating no damages or accident reports. However, upon inspection, I discovered that on 9/16/[redacted], the vehicle was in an accident with damage to the front, right front, and the airbag deployed. This information was not disclosed on my Carfax report from 5/05/15, which stated no damage or accidents. We are very concerned as we relied on the accuracy of the Carfax report when making our purchase decision. The Carfax guarantee promises to buy back the car if severe problems were not disclosed during the initial report. Here is my car's VIN number: [redacted] MERCEDES-BENZ GLK350 VIN: WDCGG5HB2DG021520. We urgently need a resolution to this matter. Thank you, Nguyen.

On 9/28/19, I purchased a report for a vehicle with serial # 1FABP45E2KF151279, described as a Ford Mustang GT/Cobra. The report displayed the last mileage as [redacted],[redacted]. However, my subsequent research revealed discrepancies. The VIN was untraceable through other channels, and the Florida DMV only listed the car as a Mustang without mileage information. Upon inspecting the vehicle, it was clear that it was not a GT or Cobra model as stated. Additionally, the odometer displayed [redacted],[redacted] miles, contradicting the reported mileage. The seller claimed the mileage was original, but evidence suggests tampering. I am requesting a refund for the misrepresented vehicle. If the report accurately described it as a [redacted] Mustang LX Convertible, we would not have pursued this further.

On 9/30 or early 10/1, I visited your site to buy a report for a car I'm interested in. I only wanted to buy one report for $39.99 + tax, but I was mistakenly charged $99.99 + tax for a multiple reports service after entering my information. I felt misled by your website. I have spoken with my credit card company, and they will refund the full $99.99 + tax unless you correct the charge to the intended $39.99 + tax amount.

In late September, I visited their website to purchase a report for a car I am interested in buying. My intention was to buy just one report. After entering my name and credit card information, I realized I was charged for a six-report service, which was not my intention. Their website seemed to have misled me in this matter. I have attempted to reach out to them, but it appears they do not have a customer service team to address such issues, which seems intentional. I have found that many others are facing a similar problem. I am requesting a full refund for the incorrect charges and to be billed for the accurate amount for just one report. I have involved my credit card company, and they have temporarily reversed the charges while investigating Carfax's business practices.

I am unable to locate my Carfax report. Can you please send a copy to my email promptly? It is crucial for me to have this information as I have already made a payment for it. Kindly forward the Carfax to me as soon as possible or provide an alternative method to access it. I look forward to gaining insight into the vehicle’s history to ensure a confident decision in purchasing it. Thank you for your assistance.

My [redacted] Ford Focus, financed at Suburban Chrysler Jeep of Ann Arbor ([redacted]), had undisclosed damage from an accident that wasn't reported by the dealership or the police. It was my mechanic who noticed the issue with the right back side of the bumper not being aligned and partially off. This damage, along with the need for shocks or struts in the rear of the car, appears to be related to the accident. Despite Michael, the salesman, claiming the car was thoroughly checked out, these issues were not disclosed at the time of purchase.

Hello, I am Arpin Kerob. I am disputing a report of an accident involving my car with VIN WDCTG4EB8HJ344508 on 11/20/[redacted]. There were no damages, nothing was broken or fixed, and I was not at fault. A bicycle hit my car, I reported it to the police, and they confirmed I was not responsible and there were no damages. I kindly request for this incident to be removed from the Carfax report. Thank you.

I am currently in the process of getting my car repaired. I was informed that your records indicate the car was sold in March, but this is inaccurate. The vehicle was transferred into my daughter's name to assist her in taking on responsibilities and obtaining her own car insurance. The car was not sold. I am interested in being added to the title to address the warranty concern. Thank you. Car Details: - [redacted] Chevy Cruze - Black - 4-door Contact Number: [redacted] Name: Douglas E. Brown

Hi there, I am contacting you about our [redacted] Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with 31,[redacted] miles. Our vehicle was parked while we were shopping and unfortunately got damaged by another car. The front driver's side fender was affected, but I was still able to drive it home. After researching several repair shops, we chose one with a good reputation, and they fixed our car beautifully. We decided to trade it in for a [redacted] Hyundai Santa Fe. During the trade-in process, the dealer first offered us $16,[redacted], but after consulting with the Sales Manager, they lowered it to $10,[redacted] due to what they referred to as "structural damage" based on the CARFAX report. The supposed damage was to a plastic support arm holding the radiator, not the frame. I am concerned about this classification affecting the trade-in value significantly. I would appreciate it if someone from CARFAX could clarify this matter. Please review my Geico Report dated 10-18-18 for more details. My contact information is: Barry W. Griggs, 86-12 259th Street, Floral Park, New York [redacted]. Thank you and have a great day. Blessings to you.

Last week, I reached out to your office concerning an insurance write-off problem listed on my VIN report at Crestview Chrysler in Regina, SASK. During a conversation with JUSTIN, he stated that there were no such details in my CARFAX report. Following advice from the Head Office at FCA, I am requesting that you send my report, under case # [redacted]6, to FCA at 1-[redacted] for removal of the insurance write-off record. Additionally, please include FCA Case # [redacted]0 on the fax. I require this correction to pursue warranty services for my truck. Thank you for your attention and support in resolving this matter.

I had an accident in Tennessee that damaged the front bumper of my pickup truck. Repairs were done, including a front bumper replacement, a tow hook cover replacement, and a skid plate replacement. However, a Carfax report now shows structural damage, which I believe is inaccurate as the repairs were not structural. The VIN of the truck is 3GTU2NEC9JG105077, with the accident occurring on June 6, [redacted]. The report mentions damage to the front, side, and rear of the truck, but it was just a minor tap to the vehicle in front of me and did not even bend my license plate. I am unsure how this was reported to Carfax as both the repair shop and my insurance company claim they did not report it. I am seeking assistance in resolving this issue and having the Carfax report removed from my truck's record. The damage on the other vehicle was limited to its rear bumper.
