While in Madrid, Spain, I faced account access issues due to not wanting to incur roaming charges. I recommend Capital One update their system to recognize when customers are abroad to avoid such situations. Despite being assured by Capital One that contacting them while out of the country would be easy, I encountered difficulties. Get Human requires a phone number and personal information which I cannot provide as I do not own a phone while traveling. Consequently, I will refrain from using my Capital One credit card in Europe during my 7-week stay.

I recently received my card as an authorized user on my aunt's account. She lives in a different state and isn't familiar with things post-[redacted]. I'm unclear about my privileges as an authorized user. How can I withdraw cash from an ATM with my card? While I can check my balance and make online purchases and pay bills, my attempt at withdrawing cash didn't work; it only gave me a receipt. I want to understand what I can and can't do with my card and how to get cash when needed. I'd appreciate any information on how it all works. Thank you! - Queenie

I am puzzled by the repeated denials from Capital One despite following advice from Credit Karma and Credit Sesame. I managed to increase my credit score from [redacted] to [redacted] by addressing two negative items on my report. It's disheartening to feel trapped by "bad credit" and unable to truly live my life. I have been struggling for a long time and it's taking a toll on my mental health. I am determined to set a good example for my youngest daughter regarding the importance of good credit. How can I start building credit when reputable companies won't give me a chance to prove myself? It's frustrating to see others get opportunities for redemption while I feel stuck. I urge you, as Audrey Simmons with SSN ending in [redacted] and DOB 3/14/62 from Hope Mills, NC, to reconsider my application. I am pleading for a chance to improve my credit. Please review my application again. I anxiously await your response.

While vacationing in Europe until July 9th, my wallet was unfortunately stolen in Prague, Czech Republic. I have been struggling for hours to report this incident. The card ending in [redacted] was in my wallet, with my wife's card ending in [redacted] safe with us. I want to disable my card ending in [redacted] as a precaution. My date of birth is 04/19/[redacted], and the last four digits of my social security number are [redacted]. Since my mail is being forwarded from Florida to my summer address in Delaware, I would appreciate the replacement card sent to [redacted] Altamont Dr, Wilmington, DE [redacted]. Currently in Regensburg, Germany, and available for a short time, I hope you can handle this promptly. I am not seeing any recent activity on the card since the theft, and I am willing to provide additional security information if necessary. Please confirm that recurring charges will not be affected until I can update my account information with them. Thank you for your assistance.

I made a $[redacted] payment on my card using my debit card for instant processing. After receiving a confirmation number and an email stating the payment went through, I was surprised to find my card over the limit later. My credit history shows a missed payment due to a returned payment, which is frustrating. I spoke with a representative after the late payment to request its removal. How can a payment that was approved instantly with multiple confirmations lead to this situation? Building my credit is crucial, and having funds for emergencies is important too. Despite the assurances, it's unsettling not knowing if the payment actually came from my checking account. The situation seems unfair and troubling.

I am feeling frustrated because I am working hard to improve my poor credit score before facing possible homelessness. I attempted to pay $[redacted] towards my bill, but due to a slight delay, I was hit with a late payment fee. After speaking to a customer service agent who confirmed my payment and waived the fee, I received two confirmation notices. However, a couple of days later, I received an email that my payment had been cancelled as a returned payment, causing my account balance to go over the limit. I am perplexed by these conflicting messages and worried about the impact on my credit. I need the $[redacted] payment to be credited to my account as initially intended to avoid further financial strain. I hope this situation can be resolved promptly to minimize any negative effects on my credit and financial stability. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I received my new card today, and I tried to activate it using my mom's phone because mine is dead. I dialed the provided 1-[redacted] number for activation assistance. However, after calling, I was told something would be sent to my phone, which I did not receive. To proceed, they requested a utility bill, but being at home with my parents, I don't have one in my name other than my insurance bill. In response, I faxed over my insurance bill along with my social security card and driver's license. Now I am unsure about the next steps to take.

I am currently teaching a five-week course in Beijing, China, and unfortunately, due to the Chinese firewall, I am unable to access my Capital One account to authorize the payment due this month. I will be returning on July 29th and plan to make the payment then. I kindly request if the bank can waive any late fees and refrain from reporting to credit bureaus. As I am unable to make calls from my phone, I appreciate your understanding. Marvin R. [redacted] King Richards Ct., Orange City, FL [redacted]

I've been struggling to access my Cap One account. I entered my user ID and password, but as I'm using a new computer in the U.K., they are asking for a code sent to my phone. The issue is, my phone number is American and doesn't work in the U.K. I contacted them by mail three weeks ago but received no response. I also had an unproductive call with them, which cost me money. I really need access to my credit and savings accounts. Thank you for your help.

I have always valued your exceptional customer service. Recently, I made a mistake and missed a couple of payments, resulting in a negative impact on my credit score. I kindly request your assistance in addressing these two late payments on my account. I am looking for a release of lien and settlement statements for my home loan that was paid off 4 years ago. I have sent my request twice in the past 3 months to the P.O. Box address provided. Each time, I was informed that the information would be available 15 days after they received my request, but I have yet to receive it. When I call to follow up, I am told there is no other way to contact this department and that I must wait. The title company has also submitted 2 requests with no response. Can you assist in checking the status of the 4 requests we have sent? Is it typical for Capital One to handle requests in this manner?

Dear Capital One Customer Service, I want to express my gratitude for using my points to lower my payment for travel expenses on my recent statement. However, I have a suggestion for enhancing the point redemption process. When I requested my points to be applied to this month's statement before the payment due date, I expected my payment to reflect that deduction. Regrettably, I was instructed to pay the full amount and await the reduction on next month's statement, which seems counterintuitive. If I'm using points to lower my payment for a flight listed on this month's statement and initiate the point transfer before the due date, it seems logical to deduct that amount from my payment. I found out that by not paying the full bill but reducing it by the point amount, I may incur interest charges on the next month's statement. This penalizes my intention to save on this month's expenses. I respectfully ask for a review of this policy. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Best regards, M. Snow

Hello, I hope you are having a good day. I am frustrated that I cannot access my account from outside of the USA where I spend a large part of the year. It is inconvenient that I need to be in my office to receive a verification code for my account. Perhaps leaving the code on my voicemail would be a better option since I am not always available to answer the phone while traveling. Moreover, I encountered an issue with my card being declined when attempting to use it at the Holiday Inn - Silom Bangkok. I am puzzled as to why this occurred and considering canceling the card upon my return in August. The requirement to have a USA phone number for verification poses a challenge when I am traveling internationally. Thank you. Nasim Z Hosein

In March [redacted], a deposit of $[redacted] was made to my account by an employer I was working for. Shortly after, my account was frozen, and after contacting the bank, I visited the local branch in New Iberia, Louisiana. I was given conflicting information about the source of the deposit. Initially, they claimed the money was stolen from a company called Lien Art Inc., but I clarified it was my payment for work done for Solar Product LLC in New York. Despite providing evidence such as emails with Sandra Chamberlin from Sunsolarproducts-us.com, the bank later claimed the deposit was made in error by another company for their employee. Two and a half years have passed, and the $[redacted] remains in the account, which I have been unable to access. Despite my deceased mother's long history with this bank, there have been ongoing issues in resolving this matter.

Dear Capital One, Recently, I was informed by Experian to check my CreditWise score, which has dropped from [redacted] to [redacted]. The report suggests I applied for a loan, which is inaccurate. Although I browse used vehicles occasionally, I have not sought a loan, even though I could qualify despite my credit. I obtained these cards to improve my credit, but these false reports are harming my progress. If necessary, I am willing to pay off my accounts and close my cards. It feels like my efforts to enhance my credit are not enough. I suspect unauthorized transactions, even small ones like 1.99 cents, further impacting my credit. Please advise if I should cut up my cleared card, settle the second one, and destroy it as well. Despite the setbacks, I remain optimistic about resolving this. Yours sincerely, Charlotte M.

I am currently overseas and facing an issue with my Capital One online banking due to location verification. Despite adding a Canadian relative's phone number last week per the chat representative’s advice, I am still prompted to enter a new code daily. This is inconvenient as I will be abroad for several months and need constant access without changing locations. I request Capital One to update my account to reflect my extended stay in one place, so I can avoid entering verification codes continually. Assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, my name is Susan S. Morton. I recently discovered that my information is on the dark web, and it was exposed through the Experian credit check breach. Deleting my Yahoo account led to losing all my contacts and personal data. Concerned about potential identity theft, I diligently keep all my receipts, despite Experian reporting missing payments. As a precaution, I mail my payments instead of using online banking with Direct Express. Facing a looming deadline in August due to a rent increase, I only just learned about the lawsuit resulting from the Experian breach. No one informed me until now, affecting my housing search. While I may have occasionally been late, adjusting the payment date would disrupt the cycle. I worry that the dark web could inaccurately label me as delinquent. Please investigate and advise on addressing this situation promptly. Thank you for your attention to this matter. - Susan S. Morton

I have the Capital One Venture card and signed up to receive the 50,[redacted] bonus miles upon reaching $[redacted] in purchases. I've spent more than that but haven't seen the bonus miles yet. When can I expect to receive them? Do I need to pay off the $[redacted] first or wait for my next statement? Secondly, I've bought travel-related items with the intention of using the bonus miles to redeem them. If I pay off these purchases this billing cycle, how can I apply the 50,[redacted] miles if I haven't received them yet? Will Capital One issue a credit or can I redeem purchases even after paying them off? I appreciate any clarification. Thank you, R.
