I wanted to at least have the account frozen until compensated. I used the online feature, and it said my purchase was still pending, but it went through anyway. I talked to a rep and I explained what I wanted to happen and they said it would work. ... I went to have my children's pictures taken at a photo studio and I left my tablet in their studio. When I got home, I immediately called to make sure that they put it in a safe place. They told me that it was in a drawer, up front by their register, but that they were currently closed, so I could not come back and pick it up. I told them that I would be back the next morning. When I arrived the next morning, it was mysteriously gone. The manager told me that after I had called, she had taken it out of the drawer and left it out on the counter and someone must have stolen it. They really didn't show that much concern or interest until I told them that a lot of my bank accounts were openly attached to many of my apps and I was concerned for my financial safety. I had just purchased photos in their store using a card that was being compromised. At this point, I feel the manager's blatant negligence was in excusable (taking my tablet from the drawer where it was safe, after telling me it was safe.) Now they have not only caused me so much extra stress but I have lost my tablet that I use daily. Although I did receive almost all of my photos, minus a photo book to printed for Father's Day, is their anyway to recoop the value of my tablet? I have put a freeze on my account at this point until this is sorted out.
While I was talking to the rep, towards the end of the call, the calls was disconnected. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t call back so I could have some closure. I didn’t want to go and explain the whole story again to someone else.
I am hoping someone will help me file a report in claims to have amount of tablet and micro sd card reversed from the merchant’s charge.
I have been a loyal Capital One customer for many years, and I always pay my bill on time, I have faith that this issue will be resolved. That is why I bank with them.
I have called the manager multiple times to follow up to see if the tablet has showed up. She has admitted she was at fault for leaving it out and apologized. She also has tried to reach out to a few customers to see if they saw anything that day reguarding the tablet. I have also tried to find it online using the “find device” ap but it didn’t work since the tablet is stone dead, I am sure. I will keep trying.
