I recently visited the DMV to renew my driver's license, but the staff member declined to renew it as they required my current I-94 status. I explained that my status is under process for a Religious visa extension (R1) and showed the receipt as proof of application, but it was not accepted. They insisted I wait for my status document to be approved before renewing. My license is due to expire on December 1, [redacted], and I am concerned about it expiring due to my status. Should they allow it to expire, requiring me to retake tests? Governor Brown signed AB 60 in [redacted], allowing California residents to receive licenses regardless of immigration status. Should I obtain a temporary AB 60 license until my status is approved? Any advice would be appreciated.

In [redacted], I received a ticket in Lake County, California, while holding a Nevada driver's license. Although I can't recall the exact violation, it may have been related to driving under the influence due to being on antidepressants at the time. I settled the ticket by paying it off, and in a surprising turn of events, the authorities refunded me, explaining that I had overpaid and cleared my fine. Fast forward to now, I'm aiming to reinstate my Nevada license, but the DMV insists that California has a hold on it. However, as per a [redacted] California law, licenses aren't suspended for unpaid tickets anymore, which should apply to my case. Kindly lift the hold on my Nevada license so I can address this matter before December 5, [redacted]. Thank you.

My insurance company claims I have a DUI on my record, which I haven't had since [redacted]. After completing an 18-month class with certification upon my release from prison, the DMV has no record of a DUI. I did receive a speeding ticket, a possession of a controlled substance charge for a joint found in my trunk, and a possession of paraphernalia charge for an ashtray with a painted marijuana plant, though it was unused. I pleaded guilty and settled these charges in Utah under case number [redacted]23 in Iron County. I have made efforts to resolve this with no success via phone. I am Roderick S. Gonzales, born on 07/03/[redacted]. Please assist as my insurance rates are unreasonably high.

I completed the title/ownership transfer for my vehicle at the Costa Mesa DMV at the end of August [redacted]. In mid-October, I received a letter saying my vehicle would be suspended on November 14th due to lack of insurance proof. Before the suspension date on November 10th, I visited the DMV to address this. The staff member reviewed my insurance documents and said everything was fine, assuring me a confirmation letter would be sent. However, on November 20th, I got a suspension notice dated November 14th. Today (November 25th), I returned to the DMV seeking clarification. I was informed by Juan that my Progressive insurance from Florida did not meet California's digital verification standards, leading to the suspension. I was advised to contact [redacted] to resolve this issue, lift the suspension, and potentially waive the fee. Thank you for your help.

Hello, I recently received a vehicle registration renewal bill for a car I bought a year ago. Previously, my Toyota renewal cost was under $[redacted], but now it shows as $[redacted] for both registration and license fees for my Tesla. I'm concerned about this significant increase. Could you confirm if there is an annual license fee in addition to the registration fee? Please verify if this bill is correct. Thank you. - A. D. (License 8HRT149)

I need assistance getting a replacement title for my vehicle that's been in California. After losing the title during a move, my car has been parked in a garage for a few years. I intend to donate it, but I am stuck due to the request for additional information to process the new title. The details provided in the documentation sent back to me are ambiguous, and I require guidance on what specifically is needed to proceed. Thank you.

Hello, I am Qihuan Ling. I recently moved from Indiana to California and registered my vehicle at the San Diego DMV. Unfortunately, I didn't provide my title at the time of registration as it was lost. I am currently in Indiana trying to obtain a duplicate title and was informed that my car is titled in another state, but they couldn't determine which one. I contacted the California DMV, and they confirmed that my car was registered but not titled in California. To add to the confusion, my Carfax report suggests my car may be titled in California. I'm seeking clarification on where my vehicle is titled. My license plate number is 8FCE063, VIN WAUVFAFR0BA010554, and my date of birth is 11/26/[redacted]. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The DMV has made multiple errors in my son's account and is attempting to charge him again to rectify it. They acknowledge their mistake. Why is he being penalized for their error? It is also causing him inconvenience as he currently lacks a photo ID due to this problem. This situation is unacceptable, and I request a call to resolve this matter. My contact number is [redacted]. Sincerely, Jason L. Lee

I, Margaret Nichols, traveled to North Vernon, Indiana, to support my sister, Johanna Hankins, during her cancer battle. Sadly, she passed away on Aug. 30, [redacted]. I plan to stay through the Holidays and return in mid to late January [redacted], but my driver's license expires on Dec. 23, [redacted], my birthday. To avoid driving back home with an expired license, I kindly request that my new license be sent to C/O Johanna Hankins at [redacted] Edgewood Ave., North Vernon, Indiana, [redacted]. I am willing to pay the renewal fee with my Visa card. My driver's license number is E[redacted], and I have a spotless driving record. Although my California address is [redacted] Ash Creek Rd., Anderson, CA, [redacted], I am temporarily in Indiana. I can be reached at [redacted] and will extend my stay until the new license arrives. I sincerely overlooked this issue amidst my grief. Thank you, Margaret Nichols. PS: I need that new star on the license, even if I dislike flying.

I paid for my registration and ticket a couple of months ago through collections, but I have not received my tags. I spoke to a DMV agent who provided me with a number I cannot access. I am concerned because I was pulled over a month ago for not having tags, and I had to leave town for work for the last month. The DMV representative mentioned that my payment has not been processed yet. Can I get a receipt for the payment as proof that I have paid? Also, when can I expect my payment to be processed? -M.

I work at Harper Porsche Jaguar, a dealership based in Knoxville, TN. A customer recently traded in a [redacted] Infiniti Q50 (VIN: JN1BV7AP5EM677482) with a payoff involved. Upon attempting to obtain the Tennessee title from the bank, we discovered that it had been voided because a California title had been issued for the vehicle. The customer was previously stationed in California, which may explain the additional title, but their lienholder never received it. We are currently trying to resolve this issue and would appreciate prompt attention to rectify the situation. Thank you.

I paid my traffic fine to the Kern County Courts, but the payment was unexpectedly refunded to my credit card company. I didn't know about this issue until two months later when I received a DMV suspension notice. I have relocated out of state and cannot drive legally to attend court. I always paid my fines on time and never missed a court date. The court is now using the Failure to Appear (FTA) against me in place of another payment I cannot afford. I seek assistance in resolving this matter. Thank you for your help. Susan B. #B[redacted]

I need assistance with a vehicle registration issue. I purchased a car from a used dealership, and they handled the registration process for me. However, the registration stickers never arrived at my address. It has been 6 months since I bought the car, which exceeds the 8 week replacement period. I am unsure what steps to take to obtain the registration tags now. Should I reapply as though it's a new registration request, or is there a process for replacement since I have already paid for the registration?

I recently relocated to Texas and need to exchange my California driver's license for a Texas one. According to the California DMV website, I must physically visit a California DMV office to obtain a replacement license. I am exploring if there is a way to have proof of my CA license either mailed to me or directly to the TX DMV, as they mentioned they would accept such documentation.

I am urgently seeking assistance from a DMV representative regarding my inability to pay for my vehicle registration renewal online or over the phone. Despite my repeated attempts to speak with a representative, I am consistently disconnected before I can get help. The DMV website indicates that there is a specific issue preventing me from making the payment, but I need to understand what it is so I can resolve it promptly. The late fees from the DMV are mounting, and I want to address this situation as soon as possible.

My name is Kait. I am contacting from Tedford Chevrolet in Texas regarding a vehicle trade-in where the title was lost by the customer. We have submitted all required information to the California Vehicle Registration department in Sacramento. The lost title packet was mailed on 12/9/19. After contacting customer service, I was informed that the current expected processing time for a lost title is approximately six weeks. Unfortunately, we need a quicker resolution as the vehicle has already been sold. Is there a way to expedite this process? The vehicle in question is a [redacted] Ford F150 with the VIN number 1FTFW1ET2CKD52331 registered to Elias Antonio Duran. Please contact me urgently at [redacted]. Thank you, Kait

I've unfortunately misplaced the pink slip needed to donate my car to a charity. I owe $[redacted] in fees for June registration, parking tickets, and penalties. I am hoping to receive a [redacted] tax write-off by donating my car to help with unexpected financial difficulties I faced last year. I am seeking any assistance the DMV can provide to help with the expenses owed, as donating the car could greatly help with addressing the financial challenges I've been dealing with.

I renewed my driver's license online after it had already expired. I received confirmation of payment. How can I show proof of renewal if I get pulled over or need it for verification purposes? My license is expired, and I need to drive for work and school. Is there a way to obtain a temporary license or some form of proof that my renewal is in progress and on its way?

I received a cell phone ticket from a police officer who did not listen to my explanation that it had fallen off the dashboard and I was just putting it back. I contested the ticket and had a deadline of November 7th for a trial by declaration after using a one-time extension. I recently found out that my license was scheduled to be suspended on the 22nd, but I received the notification letter late as I am currently staying with friends. I am unable to drive to the DMV to resolve this. I need guidance on how to unsuspend my license so I can visit the DMV for resolution.

I am unsure if my car is registered. I purchased the vehicle in November, and the tags expire this coming December. The seller had a dealership license. When I tried to register the car at the DMV in early December, they informed me that I needed to return to the seller to complete the paperwork. After doing so, I was told the tags would be sent by mail. It has now been three weeks, nearing January, and I am uncertain about the registration status of my vehicle.
