My name is Patricia Lamping. I had a DUI in California **********. At the end of **** I moved to North Dakota. I filed papers with the mandatory actions unit the summer of **** requesting my license to be released from California so that I could go about getting a license in North Dakota. I filled out all of the forms that were sent to me and took care of court fines and anything that was requested of me in order to have my license released. I have held a license in North Dakota ever since then. A few years later out of no where Riverside Superior Court started contacting me saying that I still owed them court fines pertaining to this DUI. I’ve call several times to mandatory actions unit and have been told something different each time. One time I called I was told that I had resolved all of the issues I needed to and should not have any court fees owed as my license would not have been released other wise. Another time I called and was told that just because my license was released doesn’t mean I didn’t owe court fines pertaining to the DUI, but I clearly remember having a list of things I had to pay off before I could get my license released. I was given a list of things I had to do before my license would be released and paying fines was part of that list. I have no way of proving that I payed them as the bank that I used at the time closed the branch that was in the town I lived in and claims I never had an account with them. I have also recently had San Bernardino county try to accuse me of owing them fines but when I called the collection agency I was told that I had indeed payed the fines but that the courts had changed their operating system and had failed to update things correctly to reflect on their end that my fines were in fact payed. I do not have the means to come to California to go to court to resolve this and I took care of everything I needed to in ****. I would like any information that mandatory actions would have on my behalf as I got rid of all of my paper work a few years later thinking it would be safe as everything had been taken care of and in **** after tossing my paper work out of the blue I started being contacted by riverside. I would greatly appreciate any information you may have pertaining to this issue.
