I have a relative who is a high risk candidate under group *A to get the coronavirus vaccine. He is a ** year old asthma sufferer who can only take the Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccine. He lives in the State of New Jersey. The State with arguably the most number of pharmaceutical companies in the country including a Johnson and Johnson headquarters and Pfizer headquarters across the Hudson River in New York City. Last night, I stayed up until *:**am researching stocks of vaccines in your stores in areas of New Jersey close to my relative's home. The website vaccinefinder.com showed that three of your CVS stores had Pfizer shots in stock. However, when I tried to make an appointment on the CVS website all the locations reported "Fully Booked" for appointments. I took it upon myself to call your hotline around *:**pm on Friday, March **, ****, but they were totally useless. I hoped interacting with a human being on the phone would help, but I couldn't be more wrong. When I asked if they could call the store to check if there were cancellations that my relative could take advantage of, they refused to do so because they claim they are not allowed to call the store. Let me repeat that to ensure it is clear, your CVS hotline representatives cannot call the CVS stores to help people identify if there is still stock in the vaccine needed to treat coronavirus candidates in the *A category. Your CVS hotline representatives also tell me that after checking with their supervisors, they cannot check with the stores reported to have stock of the coronavirus vaccine to see if there may be some cancelled appointments that my relative could take. When I try registering on several websites your company uses for marketing and advertising by depicting a happy person getting a coronavirus vaccine by dumping tremendous amounts of money in advertising dollars to create some of the most sophisticated websites on the market, the registration system (over the past two months) does not give you updates, does not send you emails to report updates with my requested appointment, does not provide any feedback whatsoever. I am sure, as a pharmaceutical company brand, that has been providing medicine for my State (New Jersey) and my family all of my life, you are all aware of the seriousness of the current pandemic and your responsibility to the communities who have helped raise your company brand to a household name and invested millions of dollars to increase your company's value over the years. If logistics is a problem, I'm sure your company has the capital and personnel to handle such challenges. If monetary negotiations with big Pharma, distribution requirements, order estimates or lobbying Congress is a concern, to that I say "come on get real". You are CVS not some mom and pop shop that just discovered the mortar and pestle or the medicinal leech. As a concerned relative of someone who truly needs help because he is a person who is at high risk if he should contract coronavirus and cannot take the Moderna vaccine because of its affects and his sensitivity to allergies triggered by that vaccine and who happens to be a bright, outstanding student ready to start his next stage of life as a college student I implore you to use your common sense, stop worrying so much about matters you cannot change, and be the change. I need someone to contact me and to let me know when my relative can get a vaccine at one of your locations near New Jersey zip code *****. It shouldn't be too difficult to identify an extra Pfizer vaccine or Johnson and Johnson vaccine not taken by someone who cancels their appointment because of death, hospitalization or because they couldn't make it to the appointment because they had to attend a "critical" corporate*political meeting at that particular time to lobby for more corporate (CVS) money. I am sure these people are all vaccinated already because of the "urgent indispensable essential need" to make an extra corporate buck for it's shareholders, but there are also other people in your communities who require assistance to stay alive in the middle of a global pandemic. I am going to keep a copy of this complaint, and every day that goes by will be recorded and eventually released on either social media or to those in politics willing to listen to the poor service provided by CVS stores.
