I am totally at a loss about what is happening.*New account - phoned yesterday to submit meter readings - had to find out how as a smart meter. The phone line was dreadful - told technical issues at your end. *Gave readings yesterday for both gas & electric over the phone but got a text this morning asking for electricity reading.*Am bemused*confused as thought I was on dual fuel so why not starting at the same time?*Also as my smart meter in the house is now working I do not understand why readings cannot be taken directly?**Also selected British gas from a comparison site as cost less - I was given no information regrding direct debit amount. On setting up and signing in to online account I see that you want to debit me £**.** total - with Eon I was paying £** a month and still in credit so this is too much?**It is not easy to try to phone between * and * - seems very poor not to be able to contact British Gas by phone out of these hours. I am of an age where I prefer to talk through things on the phone.
