Dear British Airways -- I tried taking your survey on ********, but as soon as I clicked on it a window came up saying it was not available, even though it was still within the stated time it should be available.*I would like to share that I have traveled internationally at least once or twice annually in the past ** years, and several times have utilized British Airways.* I felt I could always count on dependable service, good food and reasonable expectations*for scheduled flights.* However, I was very disappointed with my recent flights within Europe on October **th and **nd of this year to and from London's Heathrow Airport and Athens. I was not aware that apparently * years ago BA had stopped serving any complimentary snacks or beverages of any kind, including water, on European flights.* On both flights I attempted to use * different credit cards to buy snacks, but was told that because my American bank-based cards have security chips the airline's credit card machines could not process them.* On the first flight the attendant was so embarrassed by the rejection of my cards (after she had already poured my beverage and sent off my snack for heating) that she gave me the snacks anyway.* On the return trip, however, thinking that the previous flight was just a one-time glitch, I attempted to charge snacks again, and was curtly advised by the flight attendant that none of my cards would work.* She then flatly stated that all she could provide was tap water.* The lady behind me felt so bad for me that she bought me a serving of instant oatmeal ("porridge") which was barely warm and watery, but at least I had SOMEthing to eat on a *-hour flight which lasted from *am until noon.* The other flight attendants seemed to be very embarrassed by this new policy and the problems with their card machines and encouraged me to write to the customer service department of the airline.* So here I am doing just that.*I used to make a point to look for British Airways flights for my humanitarian trips all over the world.* I will not be doing that in the future, unless I hear that your attitude towards travelers has improved.* I was embarrassed and hungry on your flight, and I will not take a chance to be treated that way again.*Bonnie Kee**** Seacliff Dr.*Pismo Beach, CA *********-***-****
