I was trying to get some sort of acknowledgement of the time and stress this issue has caused me. Maybe an upgrade on the flights I've booked or at least something more than just being issued with yet another Case ID number with no follow up. ... Hi, my details were caught up in the BA data breach and after I was notified on *th September I was given a reference number ******** with the promise that I "should hear back shortly" I have heard nothing despite emailing on * separate occasions. Is this normal Customer Service for BA or have I been singled out for special treatment? I am disgusted and amazed.
The fact that may personal data was out there for ** days before BA notified me is emtremely alarming as they are, by law, supposed to keep it safe. They have failed in their duty and seem to think total silence is the way to put this right !! Well they are wrong.
At the very least I would expect to have these flights upgraded and an apology for the stress caused.
I have flown many times with BA and always found them to be reliable and courteous. I always check their flights first before booking with rivals (Virgin mainly) Not any more after this total lack customer care, support and understanding.
I have contacted their customer service department and all I get is another ID number, they claim they are busy but that is not my problem
