Help with my Booking.com issue

My son booked me a room at the Georgian Terrace for March **. circumstances have changed and we cannot make that date and need to change to March **. The hotel has no problem changing the night. When I last talked to Booking.com, I was told that the hotel did not allow the change. Since the hotel confirmed today (Crystal in Reservations) that she would make that change, I am again asking Booking.com to work with me. Please help.
