I purchased a TV online on Boxing Day. I returned it for refund on the *th of January to the Bestbuy store on St James st in Winnipeg. On the **th of January I called customer service using your *** phone number. I was told my return showed as a ‘dropped’ receipt and had to return to the store for a new return receipt. I returned to the store that day and it was investigated and I was told the person would continue to investigate and get back to me that week by the **th. No one called. I called the St James Bestbuy store on the morning of the **th. I explained everything and was told the person who would investigate would be in that afternoon and would call me back. No one called. On the **st of January I again called Bestbuy customer service using the *** phone number. At that time your representative explained that the return still showed as a dropped receipt but she took the necessary steps to finally refund my money. Your representative also told me that I could get my money quicker if I returned to the store and had them issue the refund. I returned to the St. James Bestbuy store that morning, January **st, and went through it all again. I told them about the return, the phone calls, the visits to the store and the lies about the phone calls. I was told they would investigate and get back to me (I expressed my scepticism) when they had investigated and had some news. I received an email on January **st stating I would be contacted about the next steps in *-** days. A representative from the St James Bestbuy store called on the **th or **th to tell me that the return showed as a ‘dropped’ receipt and it would be reissued and I could expect to receive my refund in *-** days. *I am writing all of this to lodge a complaint about the long delay and seeming inactivity, despite assurances, on the investigation of my refund. I have seen no evidence of activity on this matter in the early stages. I made a contract with your company when I purchased a television and again when I returned it. Bestbuy took advantage and didn’t return my money unless I continued to push for it. Your company’s people said all the right things and did none of the work to make it right. **My money was returned to my credit card yesterday (January **th). Three weeks from the day I returned the television. So three weeks, three trips to the store, three phone calls and two subtle implications that I may be lying later I have my money returned to me. **To say I’m unhappy with these events is stating the obvious but I feel compensation should be made.
