The issue in GetHuman-iscsam's own words
I paid my monthly rent and utilities on check ****. On June **th I received July's bill and a message stating that June's rent and utility payment wasn't received. I had hand delivered it.**On June **th I wrote check **** as a replacement for check ****. When I dropped off the replacement check at the office I requested that if they come across the original check **** that they destroy it.**This has happened at least three (*) other times since I moved here November ****. Every other time when they found the original check they destroyed it. **This time they deposited **** on July *nd and **** on July *rd. The property managers are on vacation this month and believe that the person filling in made this mistake. Managers return on July *th.** I didn't cancel the check for * reasons, first because or how they have handled this in the past and living on full disability I couldn't afford the $**.** cancellation fee. **Because the *nd check deposited caused my account to be overdrawn and subsequently a $**.** overdraft fee applied.**On July *th I called Bank of America, explained the situation and was told that I am screwed and the $**.** would not be refunded.**I have been a BofA customer for well over twenty (**) years. **Every penny counts living on a fixed income with my ** year old son, who lives with me and a full time college student.**I would like the $**.** overdraft fee returned to my account. If this is not going to happen then I will open a new account at another bank, then transfer my SSDI and Honeywell pension direct deposits transferred to the new account. Once the transfers are complete I will close my BofA accounts and end our ** * (plus) year history.
