I recently purchased a brand new BMW X3 M40l. Upon buying it, I noticed a scuff on the steering wheel at the 6 o’clock position and a few small ones at 9 and 3 o’clock. Although I informed the salesman about it, the scuffs have worsened over time. During my first service at the dealership, the service advisor mentioned that it looks like the damage was caused by "rings," although I am the only driver and don't wear any rings. They said they would contact warranty and the service manager. As a first-time BMW owner who spent $68,[redacted] on this vehicle, I simply want the issue addressed correctly without unwarranted accusations affecting the warranty claim for something present from the time of purchase.

Car Play Frustration: My [redacted] X3's Car Play only shows 12 of my telephone favorites while the engine is running, leaving out the remaining ones. This is a big issue as my previous [redacted] BMW displayed all favorites all the time. It seems this limitation is now considered a "safety" feature, which I find quite frustrating. Not being able to access all my favorites forces me to search for numbers while driving. This seems like a flaw to me, and I want the Car Play feature to display all favorites constantly. I've raised this concern with BMW, but initially, they were unaware of this being a safety feature until it was later confirmed by a representative. I strongly believe that if a feature is offered, it should work seamlessly. Additionally, I am displeased at the prospect of being charged a renewal fee for Car Play after the first free year, considering I already paid for the car feature and my phone. BMW should address these issues promptly.

Hello, my name is Bipin and I am a BMW GS310 user. I have been experiencing starting trouble with my bike despite changing the battery and starter coil. I am concerned about the quality of the parts used and if they are manufactured by BMW or TVS. I have invested a significant amount in this bike and expected a higher standard due to the BMW brand reputation. I have noticed that the TVS Apache RR [redacted] is priced significantly lower and wonder if BMW has utilized TVS technology in their bikes. I had other options like the Ninja [redacted], R3, or Benelli [redacted], but I chose BMW for its brand value. I am reaching out for assistance in resolving this issue and would appreciate a prompt response. Thank you.

I'm disappointed and frustrated by my recent experience with tire issues on my car. While driving away from home, I received a low tire pressure alert and had to stop at a nearby gas station to fill the tire with air. Shortly after, I heard unusual tire noises and discovered a flat tire. After getting it towed to Competition BMW in Smithtown, NY, I was surprised to find out that one tire was shredded and the other was bald. Despite having a tire package, they refused to cover the replacement tires. It's frustrating that the package didn't cover the new tires and that the poor tire condition wasn't detected during a recent service visit. Today, my car is at BMW Freeport, NY for an alignment as recommended by the Smithtown location. I've only had this car for a little over a year, and it's already cost me quite a bit in repairs.

My car won't start, even after charging the battery and changing the oil. It has been running well since I got it two months ago and I take care of it, making sure it has gas. I've watched videos suggesting it could be the fuel pump or the mass air flow causing the issue. After sitting for two weeks now, there are no lights or signs of life when I try to start it. I purchased this car recently, and while I know it's not brand new, I'm unsure where to begin troubleshooting the problem.

Hello, I am experiencing a knocking issue with my N54 BMG performance vehicle. I had my car checked for 1.5 hours but nothing was found. I tried removing the belt and starting the engine myself to test if the knocking persisted, which it did. However, I am unsure if the problem is internal or related to the crank pulley. Interestingly, the knocking does not occur when I drive. After watching videos suggesting it might be a rod bearing problem, I disagree as the knocking does not sound like it when I rev the engine. I have already invested in various engine components like the fuel pump, spark plugs, coil packs, injectors, etc. I would appreciate any help in identifying and resolving this issue. Many others seem to have faced the same problem, but no one has pinpointed the root cause yet. If I manage to solve it, I will share my experience. Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

To Whom It May Concern, I am incredibly disappointed with the BMW X5 [redacted] model we purchased from SMG in Durban in July [redacted]. On Thursday, October 31, [redacted], while driving out of a restaurant drive-thru, I accidentally spilled a cold drink on the gear lever and surrounding areas by placing it on the armrest for just 2 seconds. Subsequently, the handbrake malfunctioned, and an alert appeared stating transmission could not be selected. BMW on Call refused to assist, citing my negligence and requiring me to pay cash for the tow truck to SMG Umhlanga. Despite understanding it's an electronic car, I am surprised by its lack of water resistance, especially considering its price tag and the presence of a sunroof. I received a repair quote of R22,[redacted] due to a R10 cold drink mishap, with a 15-20 day wait for imported parts from Germany. This situation not only inconveniences me but also burdens me with additional costs. Furthermore, we faced ongoing issues with the car's Bluetooth connection, resembling a scratched CD sound, even after multiple dealership visits, leading me to believe the car may have been faulty from the start. BMW's promise of experience and lifestyle contradicts the reality of poor service and customer handling post-purchase. The disparity in service quality compared to the car's value is concerning. Regards, Mrs. Gumede

I recently purchased a BMW X3 with the vehicle identification number WBAWY310X00A60340. I am facing an issue where I can only use my Android smartphone via Bluetooth for phone calls in the car, but I am unable to play music through the car speakers. Even though my phone shows that it is connected and playing through the BMW, only the CD or radio sound is audible in the car, not the music from my phone. I have verified that the devices are connected via Bluetooth for audio on the BMW system. It's a frustrating situation for me. I'm unsure if it's a software issue or something wrong with the car. I would appreciate any assistance as soon as possible. Thank you for your help in advance.

I recently had routine maintenance on my [redacted] BMW X1 with only 58,[redacted] miles. During the service, the service manager informed me of a transmission oil leak through the sleeve connector. The repair is estimated to cost $1,[redacted], which I was surprised by given my regular servicing with the Yorktown VA BMW dealership. I have noticed complaints from other BMW owners about transmission issues in various series and feel it's premature for my X1 to have this problem. I hope BMW can consider covering the repair costs in this case. Thank you.

Hello, I have a few complaints about my recent purchase of the BMW X4 [redacted] that I want to address: 1. I encountered a promotion from BMW Egypt for this car, but after I paid the down payment and started using the car, I was informed that the promotion did not apply to this specific category of X4, which was misleading. 2. Upon receiving the car, I noticed a noise when locking the driver's door. The salesperson discovered an 8cm allen key that had been left inside the door panel, which was concerning. 3. The cabin insulation is poor, resulting in loud wind noise at speeds of 80km/h, making it difficult to communicate with passengers. I have been a loyal BMW customer for over 15 years, but this experience has been disappointing. Despite attempting to communicate with the Cairo branch manager, I have not received a response. My name is Ehab Nagy, and the car chassis number is [redacted]. I would appreciate a prompt resolution. Thank you. Ehab

Hello, I own a BMW E90 318d 143hp from [redacted] with the n47t engine. I am facing an issue with my EGR system. I recently cleaned the EGR and managed to get the actuator working again with some WD40 and silicone grease. However, upon inspecting, I found that the silicone cap in the vacuum box was broken. I tried fixing it with silicone and glue, but when I started the engine (while cold), the vacuum box did not move. The EGR cooler flap moves freely, but I am getting error code [redacted]. Additionally, I have a question regarding the throttle body. When the engine is on and reaches operating temperature, the throttle is at 10% open even at idle. The engine runs a bit rough at idle, but if I manually move the flap to 80%, the engine runs smoothly and quieter. I have already cleaned the throttle body and intake manifold. Could you please provide some advice on how the throttle body operates on the n47 engine when the engine is at idle? Thank you, Matija

I recently had to have the delivery unit SCR [redacted] replaced on my [redacted] X5dr35d. Even though the warranty had just expired by a few months, my car is well below the mileage limit. I've been a loyal BMW customer for many years and always serviced my vehicle at BMW of San Francisco. I initially reported issues related to the exhaust fluid, but it wasn't addressed until the pump malfunctioned. Despite the repair costing approximately $[redacted], I believe BMW should reimburse me as the car was regularly maintained by their service department. I've always had a positive experience with BMW and hope they will stand behind their product in this situation. Thank you, Chris N. Subject: Feedback on New BMW X1 Purchase Address: A Stocks [redacted] Idle Road Bradford West Yorkshire [redacted]93 BD2 2AW UK To Whom It May Concern, I recently purchased a new BMW X1 2.0 petrol X Line, which is our second X1 after owning a [redacted] X1 2.0 diesel SE. While the new X Line is smoother, quieter, and rides better, I am disappointed by the missing features such as rear electric seat droppers, sliding bench, CD slot, and adjustable steering pressure, which were present in our previous SE model. The brochure mentioned extended storage, but I couldn't find it under the leather sport seats. I hope to receive a refund or a gesture of goodwill to compensate for these missing features. It's disheartening to discover important elements absent in the newer, supposedly higher-spec model without prior notice. Looking forward to your response. Regards, A & B Stocks

I recently took in my previous model X1 [redacted] 2.0 diesel to Lloyds of Colne on October 30th. I am pleased with the new X1 in terms of ride quality, quietness, and refinement. However, there are some issues with the omission of certain features in the new model that were present in the previous one. These missing features include under-seat storage bins, a sliding rear seat, rear seat dropper switches, the ability to close mirrors when locking the car, and a CD slot. Considering the significant price difference, I find this situation disappointing. I believe that customers should be informed about the reasons behind such changes, as it affects our decision-making process when purchasing a new BMW. I would like to request some form of goodwill gesture like an allowance, discount, or accessories to restore my trust in the BMW brand. Currently, I feel disappointed and misled. Regards, Mr. AS.

I had an accident in [redacted] which resulted in a head injury. Due to some issues with Gab and Tony, I lost a ride. I received a settlement, but it seems like there are some problems with the money transactions. I believe someone might be trying to take advantage of me. They offered to do some work on my car, took $[redacted] in cash, but didn't complete the job. I also suspect they tampered with my speakers. When I confronted them, they only offered to pay me a small amount for the speakers. Additionally, they have been pressuring me to sell my car and have made some unusual requests involving money transfers. I am considering legal action to resolve this matter.

I want to share my issue with how BMW dealt with the known problem of the Footwell Module 3 (FRM component). Recently, I bought a used [redacted] 335i and experienced a starting issue while Christmas shopping. After AAA towed it for a new starter, the repair shop couldn't close the windows, suspecting a problem with the FRM module. A local BMW dealership confirmed the bad FRM, which they believed got damaged when reconnecting the car battery after the starter replacement. BMW's 10-year 150k mile warranty on this part didn't help me because my car exceeded the time limit, costing me $[redacted] for the new FRM. Car companies typically issue recalls for known issues, but BMW didn't do this for the FRM problem. They should have replaced it either for free or provided a discount considering it was a known issue caused by external factors.

I have been purchasing from this dealer for over 18 years. In November [redacted], I purchased a [redacted] 750i and also acquired an extended maintenance agreement for 48 months or 50,[redacted] miles. During a recent service appointment, I was informed that my warranty had expired, even though I believed it was still valid. Upon inquiring about the extended warranty price, I was given a different number. Upon returning, I noticed they had altered the figures and increased the cost of the new maintenance contract. Despite providing my original contract stipulating 48 months or 50,[redacted] miles, they insisted it was only for one year. I am disappointed with their practices and intend to report this to the Better Business Bureau and the attorney general. I will be sharing this experience on various social media platforms. If you are considering purchasing a BMW, I recommend avoiding this dealer and finding a more trustworthy one. I am determined to resolve this issue.

Hello, I've been attempting to contact BMW customer service with hold times exceeding an hour and experiencing multiple disconnections. Despite documenting my issue with one representative, the drivetrain malfunction has recurred since. As a long-time BMW customer, I am troubled by this ongoing problem. While driving, a drivetrain warning light appears, causing the vehicle to slow down significantly. After BMW of Irvine's attempted repairs, the issue resurfaced twice. I recently left my car at Crevier BMW, where they identified the need for a new harness from Germany with a ten-day wait time. During previous repairs at BMW of Irvine, I faced challenges as loaner cars were unavailable, impacting my commute. I seek a lasting solution to ensure my safety and comfort while driving. Your assistance in resolving this matter promptly would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Nam P. [redacted]

I recently purchased a brand new BMW X5 SUV with a faulty "leveling" system that is supposed to adjust the car's height based on speed. However, the system is not working correctly and always raises the vehicle to its highest position. This issue affects the car's handling at high speeds due to increased wind resistance. Despite BMW NA acknowledging the safety concern, the dealership has not provided a solution and refuses to assist. I am looking to cancel this purchase and start over as the vehicle is brand new and the feature is not functioning as intended. The car's sticker price was approximately $90,[redacted].00, and I am disappointed with the lack of support from BMW NA and the dealership.
