I recently experienced an issue with AVIS regarding an overcharge of $[redacted].81. I initially prepaid $[redacted].99 for a car rental starting on Dec 12, [redacted]. Due to a schedule change, I picked up the car a day early and was charged an additional $[redacted].81 upon arrival. The AVIS employee explained $47.81 was for the extra day rental and the remaining $[redacted] was a deposit. Believing this, I signed off on the payment. However, upon returning the car, I was informed no deposit was taken, and the extra charge was non-refundable. I would never have agreed to pay $[redacted].81 for an extra day if properly informed. This situation is unacceptable as an extra day rental should not cost almost half of the original 10-day rental price of $[redacted].99. I feel misled by the AVIS employee regarding the deposit. I seek guidance on resolving this matter. Thank you.

I rented a car from Avis at Rome Fiumicino Airport on 4/18 for [redacted].91 Euros ($[redacted]). When returning the car on 4/23, the agent didn't provide a receipt as agreed and said it would be emailed. To my surprise, my credit card showed a $[redacted] charge from Avis on 4/28, double the agreed amount. I received no email or receipt. Despite no car damage, Avis hasn't clarified the charge. I've unsuccessfully tried contacting Avis in Rome. I'm disputing the charge with my credit card issuer. My name is Reno Dykes, and the contract number is RA [redacted]71.

I recently received a bill from Avis for reservation # [redacted]BUS6, stating that I owe more money. However, I believe that Avis actually owes me money in this situation. I initially booked the reservation online and later modified it using my AARP discount code A359807. Upon picking up the car at RSW, I noticed that the rental car terminals were offline, and the agents had to manually input our details. When I inquired about my AARP discount, the agent informed me that due to the system issues, they couldn't apply it, suggesting I contact customer service if needed. I retained screenshots of the reservation depicting the amounts with the coupon. The original total, with fees and taxes, was $[redacted].52, the prepaid amount was $[redacted].80, and it indicated an expected credit due of $[redacted].28. Regrettably, I am unable to attach my screenshots here for verification purposes. Thank you, Lisa P.

I would like to report an issue I had with my recent rental agreement with Avis. I picked up a Ford Escape on June 20th and returned it on July 1st at Federal Circle, Jamaica, NY. On the return day, I was informed by an Avis employee that the quarter tank would need topping up for about $10 to $20. Not opting for the refill as it was 3/4 full, I was later charged $[redacted].90 without a breakdown of the cost. When I contacted Avis, I spoke with Jones Aveline at JFK, who was unprofessional and accused me of things I did not do. I was also told that 9.5 gallons were filled, which doesn't match a 3/4 full tank. The lack of transparency regarding the charges is concerning. I seek a resolution to this matter without considering a concession on pump rate but only willing to pay for the gas shortfall. You can reach me at [redacted]

Hello, I need to adjust my upcoming car rental reservation [redacted] in Denver. I am now arriving a day earlier and would like to change the pick-up to 5:30pm on 8/1 and return at 11am on 8/5. The total price with the discounts I applied previously was $[redacted].13. I used a coupon code and Facebook rates which I am having trouble retaining after the modification. The coupon code I used gave me around $40 off. The existing codes on the reservation are: Corporate code: X196290 [25% off] Discount code: TUSA014 [one free weekend day] Additional discount code: MUWA158 [$15 off $[redacted]] Could someone help me adjust my reservation with these details and ensure that the discounts and coupon codes are still applied? I would like to keep the free weekend day coupon if possible. Thank you.

Subject: Double Charges for Car Rental Hello, I encountered an issue while trying to rent a car online on 7/23/18. Despite encountering an error twice on the Avis site, I successfully completed a transaction on the Budget Rental site at the same location in Cleveland, OH, [redacted] Superior Ave. Following a conversation with the Avis/Budget office, I was informed that the charges from Avis, which I never intended to make, would be reversed. I am currently in Redding, CA, assisting with the Carr fires. After working long hours for 24 days, I rented a small car from your Redding office to deal with a family emergency in LA. I had planned to return the car to the LA airport but had to return to Redding at short notice. Trying to contact the Redding office after hours was unsuccessful, and due to my work in the mountains without cell service, I couldn't reach anyone during the day. Upon speaking with customer service to change the drop-off location to Redding, I was quoted $[redacted].08, a drastic increase from the initial $[redacted]. The representative's response was dismissive and unhelpful, leaving me feeling disrespected. I am considering disputing these charges with my credit card company and will share my negative experience with Avis on social media platforms and local news outlets to warn others about the unreasonable fees and poor customer service.

Hello, my name is Adila. I recently booked an Audi A1 Sportback to be picked up at Treviso Airport from September 15th to 18th. Unfortunately, I accidentally booked the car twice. Initially, I made the first booking successfully (booking reference 3[redacted]-GB-0) but later discovered I was eligible for a 15% discount. When I tried to apply this discount by managing my booking and selecting "change vehicle," it led to a second booking (reference 3[redacted]-GB-2). My bank account shows deductions of £[redacted].69, £[redacted].39 for the first transaction, and £[redacted].30 for the second one. I only need one car and not two. Could you please explain why I was charged twice when I was trying to improve my deal from the initial booking? Also, how can I obtain a refund for the duplicate transaction? Thank you for your prompt assistance. Best regards, Adila A.

Reference: Wizard 2SM45E AWD B574500 I recently chatted with Avis to inquire about the rates displayed online for a C-class Mercedes with automatic transmission in Munich from the 13th to the 20th of October. Despite being assured during the chat that all costs were included in the $[redacted].41 displayed online, I was surprised to find out upon attempting to reserve that an additional $88.76 would be charged for taxes and fees. This discrepancy has left me feeling frustrated and wondering why the information given during the chat differs from what is now being presented. Should I consider renting from another car rental company?

Hello, We rented a VW TOURAN from AVIS at Frankfurt Central Station for one day on 10/11/[redacted] and returned it at Romerstrabe 4, [redacted], Bonn within 24 hours. When we picked up the car, we were told the total payment was [redacted] euros, but the bill shows [redacted] euros. The difference was explained to us to be refunded upon returning the car. We left the car by placing the key and rental documents in the drawer instead of returning them at the counter. Could you please confirm if the excess amount will be refunded automatically or if we need to visit the counter to process it? Also, do we need to bring the credit card used for payment to the counter for the refund? Car Information: 1. Type: VW 78/[redacted] TOURAN 1.4 TSI 7S AT 2. Plate Number: EU-AA4213 Payment was made with a MasterCard. Authorization Code: [redacted] Thank you for your assistance.

I'm in dispute number [redacted]. I've reached out to Budget's customer service twice via phone for guidance on addressing my billing dispute. Despite my efforts, the email containing my necessary documentation has bounced back twice. I possess all documents needed to support the incorrect charge on my credit card. Kindly furnish me with accurate directions on uploading these documents. Resorting to registering a dispute with Discover card in the interim. I've unsuccessfully attempted to forward this information to [redacted] via email.

Over the weekend, I rented a GMC Acadia from Avis in Etobicoke. Due to a shortage, I accepted a vehicle with less than half a tank of gas, which was fine. I aimed to return the car to Billy Bishop Airport on Monday before my 11:30 flight. However, arriving at 10:50 am, I struggled to locate the drop-off point. After a call, I discovered Avis was offsite. Rushing to Wellington and barely making it before my departure, I commend the shuttle service and the Etobicoke employee who instructed me to refill the fuel tank to its initial level upon return. Though I prepaid for the rental, I noticed an unexpected charge of $[redacted].52 dated October 22 on my credit card statement from Avis. Despite fulfilling all requirements at drop-off, including fuelling and airport return as specified during booking, I kindly request a refund for this discrepancy. Best, PT

When I returned my rental car at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, Arizona, around 1:08 pm, the check-in attendant gathered the required information such as the odometer reading and fuel level and gave me a receipt. Unfortunately, my husband realized he still had the car key while going through TSA security at the airport, and going back would have made him miss his flight. I plan to return the key to Sky Harbor today but want to inform the local airport office to avoid a $[redacted] replacement fee. I've been trying to reach a live person on the phone for hours without success.

There were numerous issues during the rental car pickup process at the Catania service desk for Avis. Despite booking and paying for an Audi A3, it was unavailable, and we were offered a Fiat 500L at an extra cost. The vehicle was unsuitable for the roads we needed to travel on. The customer service was lacking as our representative seemed more interested in socializing. We received no instructions on the vehicle's pickup location and had to seek help from another representative. It took an hour to locate the car, and we were not provided with guidance on the vehicle's features or how to start it. The vehicle's size caused stress throughout our 7-day rental in Sicily, making it an unpleasant experience. If there is no response or compensation, further action will be taken. The one positive note was the professional service from Agatha during the vehicle drop-off, displaying the level of service that should be expected.

Hello, I am interested in renting a car from you at Stansted Airport around the 23rd of November. I am a UK citizen with a British passport currently residing in Vienna. I have been informed that I can pick up the car at the airport by presenting my passport as identification and will be paying with my UK debit card from Nationwide. My concern is that my bank card is registered at my parents' new address in the UK, and my pink driving licence is registered at their old address. I really want to proceed with renting a car from you and would like to have this matter clarified quickly, as I have rented from your company several times before. Could you please confirm if this arrangement will be acceptable? Your prompt assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Julie.

I am reaching out to address the exorbitant charge issue I am facing. Rental Agreement Number: [redacted]86 My rented vehicle was towed by Allwine Curry Towing Inc., subcontracted by AVIS roadside service on November 16. Although the car was returned by the tow company to AVIS Pittsburgh Airport, the driver retained the car key. Despite my repeated attempts to get the key back, the tow company has been unresponsive, even directing me to an automated voice message. Since I do not have a contract with the tow company, my efforts to retrieve the key have been futile. I have contacted AVIS multiple times, and while they assured me they would resolve the issue with the tow company, the key has yet to be returned after ten days. Despite my persistence, AVIS charged me last Friday, which I find unjustified. Given that the tow company has the key, I implore AVIS to hold them accountable rather than transferring the cost to me. I seek guidance on how best to address this matter. Thank you.

My wife and I recently rented a car from Avis and returned it to the Tamarindo location. Although our return was scheduled before 1pm, we arrived at 12pm to find the Avis representative was not on-site. The receptionist informed us that he would return in 2 hours and advised us to either wait or leave the keys with her, without providing any confirmation of the return. Due to our limited time and pre-planned activities, we could not wait for the representative to arrive in the afternoon. Regrettably, we had to leave the keys with the receptionist. This experience has left us dissatisfied with the service, especially considering Avis's reputation. We will be seeking other rental options in the future.

I rented a car on February 7 and returned it on February 10. Despite receiving the car at 7:10 PM, the bill stated it was generated at 6:40 PM. The initial car had engine issues, so the staff issued a new statement with the same incorrect timing. After being given a replacement car with a flat tire, I mentioned this issue, and a new statement was once again issued with the wrong time. Despite my concerns about the timing discrepancies, I was assured it was not a significant problem. Upon returning the car at HPN, I waited for almost 10 minutes as no staff was present. Eventually, I was instructed to go inside the airport to obtain my receipt. I have been loyal to AVIS for a long time but am now disappointed with the additional $65 charge due to these issues. Please investigate this matter with the White Plains rental office. Thank you for your attention.

My name is Steven Chadwick. On Tuesday, my flight was diverted to DCA, and the rental car was supposed to be transferred there. However, upon arrival, there were no compact cars available, and I was given a mini-van to wait. A $[redacted] surcharge was charged to my card as a deposit, which was not refunded as promised. The charge was for insurance, which should have been waived as I have my insurance through the company and credit card. The total charge of $[redacted].97 is much higher than the original quote of $[redacted].14. I was instructed to contact the manager at Reagan for resolution, but the number redirected me to corporate. I attached the original reservation details for reference (Booking ID: [redacted]2US3). I kindly request a refund and resolution to this matter promptly. Thank you. V/r Steven Chadwick

I extended my rental return date through the app I used for the reservation, but I keep receiving calls stating the car needs to be returned. Unfortunately, I have been dealing with the recent loss of both my parents and have not been able to reach the corporate office for assistance. The representative I spoke to was unhelpful and rude, unwilling to listen to my circumstances. I assumed my card was being charged, but I only found out recently that there was an issue with the payment. Given my current situation and now with my aunt in the hospital, I urgently need to speak to a supervisor or someone who can assist me.
