I lease a **** a* prestige plus *.* liter engine. I will never lease an Audi again. While driving after about an hour plus (leaving funeral on way to burial) the ACC and brake guard malfunction light came on. *Turns out there is a small crack in the cheap plastic casing on the passenger side (Maplewood Audi says that front sensor cover broken ). They say at minimum this is $**** repair (including tax) JUST to replace the cover. Moreover, if sensor also broken* total repair will be over $****. Much worse, they won't be able to tell me whether I need *nd repair until after i do the first one. Finally, why I am writing, is that they blame me - as it's "external" damage. I promise you we hit nothing. The metal all around the sensor is perfectly fine. This is either a defective cover and broke when we hit a bump or a pebble from the road* or it's a design flaw as if this thing is so fragile and expensive to fix it should be made of some type of metal so cannot break this easily. This is ludicrously expensive and should not break unless there is some type of frontal impact. I think Audi should pay for this as we did nothing wrong and it is a design flaw. Moreover, if Audi will not pay for this (which is what I think is fair), I will take it to a private repair shop and find a way to repair this dramatically cheaper i assure you.
