I had a disappointing experience at Applebee's tonight. I took my two sons out to celebrate my older son (9) being named student of the month. However, throughout the evening, the hostess, manager, and server all addressed my sons as girls, despite them clearly being dressed in boy clothes. This really upset my 4-year-old to the point where he wants to cut his hair now. It's frustrating that assumptions were made without considering their clothing. Additionally, the service was very slow, taking 15 minutes just to get drinks, milkshakes, and modelo, which were made poorly. This experience has left me feeling unsure about returning to the Applebee's on McKinley Street in Corona.

Yesterday, my daughter's 15th birthday party of 10 people was marred by poor service at the restaurant we visited. Although most of us arrived around 6pm, the birthday girl got there at 7pm. The waitress seemed impatient, mentioning her shift ending at 8pm and took a personal call while taking our orders. When my daughter requested a birthday song, she was told no one was available, and she would have to sing herself. We had to ask for utensils and escalate the issue to a male manager who did not handle it well. Additional problems persisted, such as delayed food and not being introduced to the new server. Despite a small discount offered later, the bill was higher than expected at $72.25 instead of $60.21. Trying to address this with the restaurant over the phone resulted in being hung up on or placed on long holds multiple times. The overall experience was disappointing, leading us to spend money at another restaurant. I hope for a full refund or at least a reimbursement for the overcharge.

I had lunch at Applebee's today, 2/28/19, for the second time this week. Unfortunately, my food wasn't prepared correctly. I spoke with the manager, Michael, about it, and he offered to have it recooked, which I declined. However, when the food arrived, it was out of order and not done properly, coming out as 2, 1, 3. The incident occurred around 1:00pm to 1:15pm during my break from work at Kroger, which is nearby. Despite my dissatisfaction and refusal to eat the food, I was still charged for the coke and chips. Michael's handling of the situation left me extremely upset, and I would appreciate a follow-up from Applebee's. Thank you for your attention to this matter. - Maurice Simmons, Sr.

Last night, my husband, a friend, and I visited your Hickory, NC location to watch the Carolina and Duke basketball game. The individual who seated us was pleasant and accommodated our request for a table near a TV promptly. However, our experience declined after that. Our waiter was more focused on joking around than providing proper service, resulting in my husband receiving the wrong meal. The mac and cheese chicken dish we ordered was disappointing and did not resemble mac and cheese at all. While the waiter kept our drinks filled, he abruptly handed us our checks without offering dessert or more drinks. Once he left, we were left unattended for two hours, surrounded by dirty dishes and empty glasses. The lack of cleanliness, unprofessional behavior from staff, and suspicions of drug use among employees tarnished our overall impression of the restaurant. No one, including the supposed manager, addressed our concerns despite our attempts to get their attention.

This evening, I called your Easley St location in Birmingham, AL to place an order. The person who answered the phone, a young man, spoke so quickly that I couldn't understand the store name. When I tried to give my name, it was unclear, and he responded by shouting at me to clarify. After a misunderstanding, he yelled, and I called back to speak to the manager. However, when I explained the situation, the manager rudely asked what I wanted, leading me to decide to take my business elsewhere. His disrespectful response caused me to reconsider visiting Applebee's again. This experience was unacceptable, and I have never encountered such behavior in customer service. On March 21, [redacted], I went to the Applebee's in Johnson City, TN to collect our work orders from a nearby medical facility where we have 12-hour graveyard shifts. This is one of my preferred places to eat during my rotations due to the variety it offers. During this visit, I ordered the stuffed rigatoni, a salad, extra bread, and dessert. Despite usually discarding my receipts, I kept this one as the meal was exceptionally disappointing. The rigatoni was extremely hard, making it difficult to cut with plastic utensils. The salad was drenched in dressing instead of being served on the side, and the breadsticks seemed overcooked. Although the blondie dessert seemed promising, I was too upset by the overall experience and gave it away. Regrettably, I had to throw away the rest of the meal. While Applebee's is typically one of my favorite restaurants and in my top 5 go-to places for good food, this experience left me dissatisfied. Although I usually refrain from complaining, I felt compelled to share my disappointment this time. The staff, who have always been amazing, were not at fault. I usually order 5 to 9 meals at a time, and everyone who has assisted me in the past has been wonderful. This particular visit, however, the food quality was exceptionally poor. - D. Garland

I would like to raise a concern regarding the management of the CenterPoint Applebee’s in Birmingham, Alabama. After being a loyal customer for over two decades at the same location, I felt discriminated against and unfairly treated. The manager, Derrick Ragland, approached a man who had behaved inappropriately towards me at the bar. Despite not listening to my perspective, Derrick dismissed me without a fair hearing, abruptly taking away my drink and ordering me out. This encounter left me feeling disrespected and threatened, as he even threatened to involve the police when I questioned my bill. This is not the first time I have faced such mistreatment at this establishment. I cherish the ambiance at Applebee's and have formed friendships there. I seek guidance on how to address being unjustly banned from this location and whom I should contact to lodge a formal complaint. My dining experience at Applebees was very disappointing. We waited for an hour and a half for our food, but it never arrived. The staff was unprofessional, and despite seeing other tables being served promptly, we were ignored. I tried to inquire about our order with multiple waitresses, but they seemed confused. When I asked for the manager, they said she would come but never did. Frustrated, we eventually left. As someone with a busy schedule, dining out is a rare treat for me, so the poor service was especially disheartening. Thank you for the incredibly disappointing experience, Applebees.

I sent an email last month regarding the poor service I received, but have not received any response. Recently, I had an even worse experience at the Applebee's on McKnight Road in North Hills. Our waiter was slow, and our appetizer was served at the same time as our meal. Surprisingly, when our waiter brought our food, he also asked if we wanted the bill. When it was time to pay, he did not bring the bill first. This was the worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. I visited Applebee’s in Orange CT on Easter Sunday with my son after church. I ordered the 1/2 Rib & chicken with mashed potatoes. The rib was tough, like it had been stored for days. I couldn't cut it with a knife, so I called the waitress over. She apologized and brought me another one after 5 minutes, which turned out the same. Disappointed, I just asked for the bill to leave. The lack of apology or any gesture from the waitress was frustrating. I frequent this location and always enjoyed their ribs, but the experience on Easter Sunday was disappointing. I doubt I will return to this restaurant again.

On April 25th, [redacted], I visited the restaurant on Old Halifax Road in South Boston, VA, to meet a friend. Despite my attempts to order, two waitresses overlooked me until I flagged down a familiar waitress for sweet tea. The service was disappointing, and I felt unwelcome. The wait staff's actions made me feel discriminated against, highlighting a concerning experience of being ignored by black waitresses while a white waitress eventually assisted me. This incident left me embarrassed, as a frequent visitor to the establishment for nearly seven years. I expected basic courtesy and respect as a customer. To the concerned party, During my recent visit to your Pinole branch, I experienced disappointing customer service. Despite the efficient wait time to be seated, our server, Gus, was slow in taking our drink order, and there was confusion about who would take our food order. Throughout the meal, there was minimal attention to refilling drinks or checking on us. Our food arrived after a significant delay, and we had to request silverware. Ultimately, we decided to eat the rest of our meal at home due to the unsatisfactory service. The process of requesting to-go containers was also prolonged. It was frustrating to observe inconsistencies in how different customers were served. Additionally, we had to settle our bill using a table kiosk as no staff approached us for payment.

Hello, I am currently in Florida on a 3-week vacation with 10 other adults. Our group, who visits the USA frequently, experienced poor customer service at a restaurant yesterday. We wanted to use a discount card called Dine 4 Less for a 15% discount but encountered issues when trying to apply it to our bill. Despite showing the manager the website confirming the discount, it was not applied correctly. After a frustrating 10 minutes, we decided to leave. While we enjoy the food at Applebee's, we will not be returning for the remainder of our vacation. I wanted to bring this to your attention to prevent similar incidents for other customers. On May 12th, my party was at the Columbus Applebee's on Sawmill Road. Despite arriving at 2:42, we were not seated until 3:50. We faced delay throughout our meal; from receiving a cold appetizer at 4:20, to missing items and incorrect orders. With constant reminders for refills and missing items, the service was subpar. The manager eventually addressed our issues but the experience was disappointing, especially since we were celebrating Mother's Day and a birthday. We hope for improved service in the future.

My spouse and I dined at Applebee's on Jefferson Ct. in Louisville, KY on 5/18/[redacted] between 7-8pm. We intended to use a $25 gift card to pay part of our bill, but the waitress couldn't verify it, so we paid in cash. Upon checking the card balance, it showed $25. The next day, 5/19/[redacted], at 11:15 am, I spoke to the manager and had an employee confirm the card had $25. Despite this, they refused to refund the $25 to me. Feeling frustrated that Applebee's doubted us, we won't be returning as customers. It's disappointing to buy an Applebee's gift card at their location and not have it honored there.

My experience at the Applebee's on 42nd Street was disappointing. Despite ordering the impossible burger due to being vegan, after a long wait, I was informed that they had run out of it. Instead, they offered a veggie burger as a substitute. I had checked in advance multiple times to confirm they had vegan options available, so this was frustrating. The manager's attitude was unhelpful and dismissive, which only added to the poor experience. It's disheartening to have received such service, and I will make sure to inform my family not to patronize this chain in the future.

Today, I ordered a fajita from Chili’s for takeout. I received small two tablespoon containers of pico de Gallo, sour cream, and guacamole, which was only enough for one tortilla. Despite my complaint, I was only given additional pico de Gallo and sour cream, with no extra guacamole. I urge Chili’s to consider increasing the portion sizes of these condiments, even if it means adjusting the prices slightly. As a frequent traveler, I enjoy dining in at Chili’s, but sometimes opt for takeout. The small containers are also used for other menu items like the chicken quesadilla, which results in minimal salsa for each portion. I appreciate Chili's but suggest improvements in portion sizes for a more satisfying experience.
