Since American Standard pawned off a defective toilet or what I'd call a second, I should be compensated the difference between a second grade and first grade toilet. ... I ordered an American Standard Champion * one-piece toilet, paying *.* times more for the toilet over a medium grade American Standard toilet. I needed a toilet that flushed solid wastes well and had a quiet flush. *The toilet I received, I would classify as a second, as the tank lid had been broken and patched. The flush handle makes a loud screeching noise that drowns out any flush noise. A replacement lid was received that rocks on the tank due to poor mating surfaces, and the toilet requires cleaning after each use due to poor scouring of the sides when flushed.*I had to grind away casting **** and surface material from the tank lid, so it would seat properly on the tank.*I will need to either extend the flush lever from contacting the tank and add a plastic spacer between the tank lever and tank to correct the screeching noise when flushed. The poor scouring action I will have to live with unless American Standard has an answer.
I held high expectations from American Standard, but was sorely let down in this case!
I have the stool installed and can correct two of the three problems. I think I should be reimbursed all of the extra I paid above a standard toilet in hopes of getting a quality toilet that met my needs. This toilet should have never left American Standard!
I have always purchased either Kohler or American Standard plumbing products because of my belief in their products!
I can or have fixed two of the three problems, but don't know what to do for the poor scouring when flushed.
I have an issue with American Standard Companies, Inc. too
