on **** I made a round-trip reservation to fly from San Francisco to San Jose, Costa Rica on ****, returning on ****. I received the email confirming the return flight, but no confirmation of the departing flight. I called to determine what happened and was told there is no record of the SFO-SJO flight. I was advised that the agent could book the departing flight for a charge of $**, or book the departing flight online at no charge. I had made two attempts on the **th to book online but got an error message saying I could not book to San Jose, Costa Rica online. No further explanation. My next stop was with Web Support. I was informed that the error message was because there were no seats available on that flight for Awards passengers. *Furthermore, I would have to pay **,*** credits for the one-way ticket or about $*** for a round-trip ticket plus $*** for reimbursement of the Award credits. All because of the error made by the ticketing agent in not booking the departing flight. *What I want is one of two things: Book the departing flight at the same rate I would have paid as a round-trip ticket, with Award credits* or book the departing flight for cash with no fee for reinstating the already-paid Award credits. That would be a fairly satisfying recovery, although to make me a much happier customer, you would do one of the two options and upgrade my tickets to business class. FYI, my Locator code is SRDZES.
