To whom it may concern,*I'm really disappointed with the changes to the AAdvantage program to include the spending element (EQDs) along with Miles or Segments. For YEARS I've flown with American and retained my status year after year and now that I'm now over **k miles for **** with a lot of coast to coast flights (i.e. fewer segments), I come to find out there is a dollar element in your program? It's as if you are punishing travelers who are prudent with their finances all the while trying to stay loyal to American. Shouldn't you be encouraging and incentivizing travelers to make sensible purchases based on their own interests rather than their employers? It looks as if a financial bean counter took control of a successful marketing program that was creative and imaginative and reduced it to "How much did you spend?" and frankly it's base, ugly and offensive. *image.png*I don't need to remind you that you are in the commodity business where service, customer support, and incentives*rewards are the only way to differentiate yourselves from the other airlines. If it's simply a pay to play transaction, just state it plainly and remove the segments and miles from the program! You've reduced the value of your program and soured the American brand into a run of the mill airline. It was a good run and I was a loyal advocate of American, but it looks like **** I may be charting a new course and take all my influence and business in another direction.
