I ordered a very expensive camera lens through Amazon.com on November **. This was three days after pre-orders began. This lens (a $**** ***-***mm zoom lens for Olympus cameras) is in very short supply, being assembled a few at a time. So being fairly advanced in the queue has been important. I understood that it might be a matter of months before Olympus (now OM Digital Solutions) could fill this order. This morning I got a message from Amazon saying they cancelled the order because "the item is unavailable." No elaboration or explanation. I now have to put in an order somewhere else and I will be at the end of a very long line of pre-orders. I don't see why Amazon could not just let the order go until it could be filled. I feel I have been screwed over by a faceless bureaucracy.
