Help with my Amazon issue
The issue in GetHuman5874787's own words
I was sent a $** Amazon gift card by a company with whom my company does business as a thank you. The card was well concealed in a U.S. Postal Service cardboard mailer. Nonetheless, the opening tab had been slit on one side, and the package arrived opened. When I went to redeem the card on Amazon's website, it indicated that the card number was not valid. I carefully double-checked the number, and concluded that the card had been removed from the envelope, the number was effectively stolen, the card was replaced in the envelope, and redeemed by another person, perhaps, but not necessarily, a USPS postal worker. I have reported the theft to the U.S. Postal Service. I do not expect Amazon to do anything about replacing the card, or assisting me to identify a suspect. But I would like to report the stolen card number in hope that the Postal Service can initiate and investigation and obtain Amazon's cooperation in finding person*s* involved in this matter, perhaps by identifying who redeemed the card and where a package was sent using the card's stolen value. I can furnish Amazon the card number and additional details, as well photos.

How GetHuman5874787 fixed the problem
To activate or redeem card, do NOT enter the **-digit card number. Be sure to open the card (remove the thick protective paper wrap) and peel off the film covering the "activation code." Enter this code - letters and digits, where prompted to activate*redeem card's value on your Amazon account.
