I ordered a copy of Salt Fat Acid Heat from Amazon Prime. I later saw the item on sale for **% off. I connected with customer service to see if I could receive the difference in price. The agent let me know they could*Not refund the difference but was happy to apply the difference to my next purchase with an Amazon purchase so long as Amazon was the seller. When I inquired if this would not be automatically applied, the agent referred me to her supervisor who said this credit was not permissible. This is inconsistent. The next supervisor I spoke to also said this and said that I should return the book I have and order a new one. I said this is exactly what I wanted to avoid for overuse of packaging and carbon. The agent COULD NOT understand how sticking to the rule is reputationally idiotic from an environmental standpoint, as well as from a basic customer service standpoint. They would*Prefer I create more administrative hassle and negative environmental behavior rather than ensuring a happy, continued relationship with Amazon. This seems like a major miss for Amazon and there was a distinct cultural miss in this behavior. The agents seemed scared to offer a balanced, customer and environmentally pleasing offer and opted for me to try to game the system by returning an item and buying it again. I was SEVERELY disappointed and will consider NONE of my holiday gifts from Amazon after this disgraceful appearance by their customer service staff. My order number for the item is ***-*******-*******. **I paid $**.** for the item and saw in less*Then a week it had dropped to $**.**. Please resolve as my state (NY) does permit for price adjustments within this time*Frame. I’m most disappointed at Amazons inconsistent message regarding a promotion, their rude agents (who were also*VERY SLOW) to respond, as well as their myopic training when it comes to the qualititative aspects of customer service and Amazons environmental impact (the agents could not understand this issue whatsoever). **An absolute disgrace... and for $*.**!
