Amazon Prime Membership fees dispute****September **, ******To whom it may concern,* My wife and I have been sharing one Amazon Prime membership for several years. Today, I noticed the following charge on my bank account: *Sep ** *Amazon Prime CARD***** *$**.** **My Debit card’s last * digits is **** and my wife’s is ****. I set up my Amazon Prime account with my wife so we could have different log ins but have the same account as is a prime membership benefit for families. I called Amazon and asked what this $**.** charge was for and I was told it was for my wife’s “Prime Membership”. I then told them she only has a “shared” prime family membership with me. They stated that a “free trial” Amazon Prime membership was signed up for through an LG television in September of **** and that I have been billed $**.** monthly for the last ** months. I was immediately angry and felt I had been scammed by Amazon. We both use the same checking account and make numerous purchases on Amazon through both of our log ins so it is entirely feasible that we did not notice these recurrent monthly charges. The associate I spoke to on the phone said she could only refund me for * of the ** month’s charges. I told her that this was unacceptable and that we had no knowledge of stopping our shared prime and switching to an additional “paid prime account. Amazon quietly started a new account and never informed us that they were turning off the shared account and replacing it with a paid account. How deceptive! Why would my wife open a new prime account when she already uses a shared account with me? I demanded to speak with a supervisor. I was connected to Shenoia L. who then told me “Sorry, you used the benefits of the prime membership every month for the past ** months except for February so she could only refund me for one month! Even after I stated the last employee was willing to refund me for * months! *The other thing about this is that the Amazon Prime ACH debit was through card * ****, which is a debit card long expired. As I stated above, the last * of my card is **** and my wife’s is ****. How can this Membership fee be charged to my **** card? I certainly could not make purchases on Amazon with this long-expired card! I argued with the supervisor for over a half hour to no avail* very frustrating. I could not get connected to anyone higher in the organization… this was the end of the food chain. I guess Jeff Bezos was her immediate supervisor*I am demanding arbitration or resolution and want all ** months of membership fees refunded to me.**Sincerely,*Richard Frain (***) ***-********* S woods drive*Fredericksburg, VA. *****
