GetHuman-cosaman's Return an Order issue with Amazon from August 2019

Help with my Amazon issue
The issue in GetHuman-cosaman's own words
Hi**order number:**** - ******* - *********My order arrived okay and in good time. Quicker than I expected, as I ordered it from Amazon UK. Looking at the tracking, I see that it actually came from Spain. I wasn’t aware that the item I ordered was available from Amazon ES. looking at the item on both Amazon ES and UK, I see that the item is noticeably more expensive on ES than it is UK, but accounting for free shipping from ES, and the additional charges from UK, the item would’ve cost more or less the same from either Amazon ES or UK. So that isn’t too much of an issue.**The issue is, although my order arrived in good time, it has arrived damaged. I'm not surprised really considering the packaging it was sent in. Just your usual standard, thin cardboard wrap around, that doesn’t really offer much in the way of protection at all. The packaging is such a snug fit, that any impact to the package, is obviously going to damage the enclosed item. Even more so if the impact is on the corner of the package. Or is it possible that the item was damaged before it was even packed for shipping. **The whole premise of shopping on-line is obviously buying at a cheaper price, but more so it's the convenience of having it delivered. What could be easier! Receiving a damaged item, just creates an inconvenience and extra cost to the consumer, as I expect that I'm going to have to return the item. It's going to cost me time and money to take it to the post office to return it. My nearest post office is a twenty minute drive. Let alone the time it's taken me to have to write to you, and no doubt I’m going to have to wait a while in the post office. Time and expense I can do without. This could have been avoided if you just pack your items in more substantial packing that offer more protection. Surely, it would be in the best interest of Amazon and the consumer to pack your items more carefully. Is there any reason why the item I ordered couldn’t be packed in a larger box with added bubble wrap, or any other protective product? Or is it just cost cutting by Amazon, passing the cost on to the consumer, having to return damaged items.**Experiences like this make me very hesitant to use Amazon, as you’re never ***% sure that the item you order arrives in a satisfactory condition. Having the inconvenience of having to go out to the post office to return the item is insane. I may as well have just bought the item from a store in the first place. Rest assured that the item wouldn’t be damaged.**So yes, I’m wanting to return the item, for a replacement. But can you please check the item is undamaged before sending, and pack it in more substantial packing, as I wouldn’t want to have to return another damaged item. Once is enough. More than enough.**My order was intended as a birthday present. Of course I haven’t been able give them their present on their birthday. Very disappointing! I've had to buy something else. A plan B I shouldn’t have to resort to if Amazon were more considerate with their packing.**Is it worth me asking if I’m going to be compensated for all the inconvenience and cost of returning this item?Looking forward to a favorable reply.**Thanking you**Regards.***Gill Clarke.**Hi*My order arrived okay and in good time.
