To Whom It May Concern,***I am writing this letter because I feel that I have been mistreated by Amazon customer service. I have been a loyal Amazon customer for years, and I am a Prime member who regularly orders from your website. I recently placed an order for an Amazon Kindle as well as a number of other items. Everything in the order arrived with the exception of the Kindle. The tracking service states that the Kindle "was left inside the residence’s mailbox” on July **. It was not. I followed the directions on your website for missing packages, including asking my neighbors if they received it and waiting at least ** hours. After the requisite time passed, I called Amazon customer service on Friday, July **, and was told to call back after your company conducted an investigation, which would take three business days. I called back tonight (August *), after four business days, and was told that nothing could be done about my case—no refund was going to be issued and no replacement was going to be sent. My only recourse would be to file a police report with the NYPD, get a case number, the name of the police officer handling the case and launch an investigation with the local precinct—only after that would Amazon “consider” issuing a refund or replacement. When I requested to speak to a supervisor, I was told I would have to be on hold for at least ** minutes* when I asked if the supervisor could call me when she or he were available, I was told no* when I asked for the name of the woman “helping” me, I was given the name of “Liz” with all further information refused.***This has been a frustrating experience, deeply unbecoming of a company that claims to stand for customer service. It leaves me wondering why I should continue to use Amazon and its services if the trust I place in your corporation is not reciprocated in any manner. I am writing this letter in the hopes that this issue can be amiably resolved, either through a refund or a replacement item. ***The number for the order in question is: ***-*******-******** it was placed on July **.
