Help with my Amazon issue

Access my Kindle reader ... I have one of the earliest Kindle readers and just switched from Comcast to CenturyLink. The Kindle pointed me to my new Wi-Fi connection and asked for my new password. I provided my new CenturyLink Password which Kindle then rejected. **What gives???
Can't reach anyone to help me.
Why can I suddenly not access my Kindle????
I've been ordering and reading books on my Kindle for over ten (**) years. Suddenly I can no longer access these books nor can I order new ones.
I've tried everything suggested on the website and nothing works!!!!
How GetHuman-goballar fixed the problem
I figured when my Kindle asked for a password it wanted the one I had used on my smart phone, etc. I finally decided to put in the password for my router and it was accepted. I could have saved a lot of trouble if the password Kindle wanted had been specified.
