I called Amazon prime and was told by an agent named Peter who had a foreign accent that there is hold on my account...a ** day trial ...because I used a stolen gift card to buy an iPhone...this supposedly happened in Texas. This agent had the last * digits of a Visa card that the bank canceled three months ago because it was no longer secure. He wanted me to go to Walgreens..there's no Amazon center in Charlottesville, he said...to use my credit card to verify my identity though he had already sent a verification email. I understood that he wanted me to put *** dollars on my card which Amazon would repay me. When I told him I could do that tomorrow, he said I would be charged bc I had to complete the transaction today. That sounded like a scam to me. I found the Amazon * I called on line. Because of this fraudulent *** dollar gift card, he says I will owe Amazon *** dollars and I will not have an Amazon prime account. Please help me straighten out this mess. If my identity has been stolen, I need to know.
