Was going to return it for refund. But cyber forensics found terrible stuff in this. I had already paid to have it fixed but I did not pay to have it put back together so when I found out it have infected all the files on my external drive I obviously did not want this to happen to any other Amazon customer who would maybe not be aware of these kinds of things. I would like Amazon to issue me a... ... Purchased HP ProBook ****B with a AMD a*-****mx Quad Core Processor, Certified Microsoft Refurbisher. Asked to return after paying to try to have it fixed but did not pay to put it all back together. Received seller return slip, then found this out and posted it: "Malware found. CMOS EC chip compromised. Back doors found. Bios reinfected. Indicative of tick. All tests performed by Linux cyber forensics professional. Canceled returning this item so it's not sold to others with this issue." So I do not see where it is canceled but on top of that it infected all my files. I'm not returning to this company for the above reasons but Amazon should reimburse me for not verifying that Microsoft certified refurbishers are also pin testing equipment.
I thought it had a little problem so took it to a team of experts to fix....and paid for that. However I did not pay to have the laptop put back together because they said wrong boards with wrong chips and tons more issues. This is a microsoft certified refurbisher so this is very sad. After finding it out it infected my external files I took it to a cyber forensics friend at my company who found it loaded with some of the worst viruses infecting my bios and graphics card and so much more.
Amazon should reimburse me or make the company reimburse me without returning the merchandise so it does not jeopardize someone else's files and security. Or Amazon can give me a credit. I've never had such a bad experience and I've already paid enough and spent enough labor time on this to try to fix the laptop. However, I am happy to return to Amazon those infected parts so you can see for yourself.
I was going to return this for a refund but I don't want another Amazon customer to get sold this machine and have their security stolen. I do not think this company should be allowed to sell on Amazon. I am happy to have Amazon speak with the cyber forensics expert and even show them what is wrong.
I've tried everything and now have to pay to clean my files from very mischievous malware so I am hoping I can retrieve my files.
