I endured terrible treatment at the aloft seaport in Boston. First of all, the amenities are terrible. No breakfast, terrible pillows, no microwave, but a refrigerator. The store downstairs was bare bones. So I had to order delivery multiple times accruing even more costs for my vacation. The front desk customer service was non existent. Half the time they acted surprised we came up and asked questions etc. then when we’d order food, they’ve give the door dash employees a hard time about it and not let them bring it up. The purpose was to avoid human contact during covid ** yet they kept wanting to insist we come down to them to get our food. (Having to walk through the halls, into a small elevator, and into the lobby where others loitered.) We order delivery for a reason so most times we weren’t presentable to go down and get food. The final straw came when I ordered food. I saw it had arrived and called the front desk asking about it. She says in a snippy tone “uhm yes I called and left a message” as if I know how to use the hotel phone immediately. Then I ask if it can be brought up contactless, and she says no one is working. At **am on a Monday? She says only the housekeeping manager is there. Then asks my room number. When I tell her she hangs up in my face. So i had no idea what she meant. I get dressed and do my hair to pick up the food only to be confronted by who I later found out to be a manager. I asked if it was my food, he hardly looked at me and basically tossed the food to me then walked away without a word. When I called the front desk about it she LAUGHED in my face and said he was a manager. This sort of immature unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. I will never stay in an aloft hotel again. I want the people held responsible for their actions as well as better training because many times the different front desk people told us different things.
