On October *, ****, I received a quote for my Mortgage Insurance from Allstate representative Gregory Abanaka. The policy was denied somewhere during the process* (and I do not know Allstate lingo)* however, Gregory said that he could get it fixed by removing one of the insurance claims I had due to water damage. Gregory removed the claim and sent it to underwriting and I was approved and given a policy. Gregory calls me much later and say that my policy was denied because the underwriter found an additional claim, yes, the one that Gregory removed and the underwriter denied my policy. He also stated that the underwriter told him that he should have never removed that claim in the first place. He apologizes for his mistake and I thanked him for his help. *On January *, ****, I received a letter in the mail that stated $***.** from Allstate was been sent to collections for non- payment. I immediately called the representative Gregory and he stated that because my policy was cancelled, I had a balance. WHAT???? I asked Gregory what does he mean I have a balanced from the cancelled policy? He said that because the policy was cancelled, I was responsible for any amount that I had qualified for between the approval and denial. How? I then told Gregory that I was only written a policy because he removed a claim in order to have the policy approved. I then said to him, that it was the underwriter who told him that he should have never removed the water damage claim in order to get the policy approved. *Gregory and I last correspondence and phone conversation were on or around February **, **** in which, he assured me that he would take the matter to his supervisor and have it fixed. I told Gregory that the debt had been handed over to a collection agency who was threatening to place it on my credit report for nonpayment. I have spoken to a few people at Allstate to have this problem fixed with no resolution as of yet. * However, on February **, ****, I called Allstate and spoke to a very nice young lady who said she would have the policy back dated resulting in a $*.** balance. I ask her who was going to contact the collection agency and she said that once its $*.** balance, it would cause the collection agency to receive a notification that the debt has been cancelled. I ask if I need to call by Tuesday to confirm it had been done and she said no, there was no need to. Now this morning on March *, ****, I received a secure email which asked me to call ***-***-****. A guy came on the phone and told me that the underwriter had denied my request. I was livid. I asked him how could the underwriter deny a request that was simply not my fault. He became very arrogant after almost * minutes on the phone and began to raise his voice at me. According to him, there was NO ONE at Allstate that I could speak to, call, or send an email to. I asked him again, how is Allstate, a major corporation that is worldwide but yet there is no one I can speak to that can fix this problem. At this point, I am highly pissed and the guy on the phone has no solutions but to file a complaint on my behalf that he stated that they may or may not respond to and that it may take a day or a few weeks if I get a response. AGAIN, how is any of this fair to me? I could see if I lied to get a policy but I didn't. The only person who committed a fraudulent act was your representative, Gregory Abanaka who removed a water claim damage in order to have me approved. The underwriter had told him that he was wrong and should have never removed the water claim damage in order to get me approved. Allstate, why must I pay for Gregory's mistake? Allstate why is it so hard to have this issue resolved? Again, if this was my fault because of any lies that I told, then, so be it, I will pay the bill. But this all falls on your agent. I asked that the balance us brought to $*.** dollars immediately and that the collection agency be notified that the debt has a $*.** balance.
