I made my first Airbnb reservation for a unit in Baguio, Philippines and paid a down payment last night at 9:06 PM local time. I quickly received a receipt. This morning at 9:38 AM, the host (a superhost) told me there was a double booking issue, with the other guest booking before me. I've been attempting to change my password for a while now. After receiving the link, each time I tried to update it, I encountered an error message. I am seeking assistance regarding an unauthorized charge on my PayPal for a trip to Casuarina, New South Wales, which I am not familiar with. A host contacted me last Sunday, but I have not received a response. Airbnb claims I have another account, but I only have my current one with my mobile number. I am in Guadalajara and trying to rent a place in the Lake Chapala area. Airbnb allowed me to pay with my Mastercard, but then the trouble started. First, I was informed that they needed to confirm my card with my bank in Canada, and the screen went blank. Subsequently, I received an email from Airbnb stating they needed to confirm my password. My recent experience with Airbnb was incredibly disappointing. The host's behavior towards us was completely unacceptable. Despite following the rules and being respectful, we were mistreated. The host made racist comments, accused us of theft, and insinuated unpleasant things about our friend. The cleanliness of the accommodation was also subpar, with spider webs and insects present. Unfortunately, the day before check-in, Intercity informed me that the bus service from Christchurch to Tekapo was canceled due to a road closure caused by heavy rain and flooding on State Highway 1. I believe this event qualifies as an unforeseeable circumstance beyond my control. I possess the email notification from the bus company regarding the cancellation and can forward it if needed. Various news articles online corroborate the flooding situation on SH 1. Upon learning about the road closure, I promptly contacted my Airbnb host but did not receive a response until the following day when they indicated they were unable to assist and directed me to Airbnb for a refund request. I submitted a refund request through Airbnb's platform and was instructed to reach out to them directly. Hello, I reserved accommodation in Johor Baharu, Malaysia from 19-21 December with Jane as the host. The place was advertised as having a Swimming Pool and Tennis Court. After paying in full, the host informed me that the booking was for a maximum of 2 persons only. When I brought this up with the host, she explained that her place is priced per person. This discrepancy in the advertisement misled me. I am requesting a full refund due to this misleading information. If the host meant it was per person, the advertisement should not have stated "ENTIRE CONDOMINIUM." My expectation was to rent out the whole condo, accommodating the appropriate number of guests each room. I hope to receive a full refund as I am dissatisfied with the situation.
