I was trying to find my host on a wrongly published address. The error was on AirBNB's behalf. ... I've arrived to Havana just to find out that our "host" Odette is unknown to people who own the house.**The photos and descriptions are correct, the address too, but the account Odette to who we paid - appears not to exist !**After few days of extra expenses it turns out that AirBNB published a wrong address of Odette's apartment! Even she (the host) was not aware of that.**So she was wondering where am I, and I couldn't find her home due to error on the site.
Due to internet problems on Cuba, I wasn't able to contact AirBNB because the only way to do that is through their internet site. I managed to apply for refund (it took ages on poor cuban wifi of the hotel I had to sleep in), but AirBNB doesn't count that. Until it finally got to them, six days passed. They refused to refund me for these days though I never found the apartment, and didn't spend a night there. They offered me **% discount for * out of * days I didn't use. I find this very unfair. They insist I should have contacted them first day !
I pledged for a full refund, but it was only partially approved.
This is my second time to use AirBNB, I expected much easier way to report a problem.
Tried to speak with my host. Lady says she contacted AirBNB few days before they agreed to contact me.
