I booked an airbnb in Ventura, CA in April, **** described as 'Reservation at Entire Apartment in Great Location' for ********** to ********** and paid half of the fee.*Recently, we had to change our accomodations for slightly different dates and a large place at an airbnb also in Ventura, called 'Entire home in Ventura'. This second airbnb better suited our needs so we booked the second airbnb.*This week, I contacted the owner of the first airbnb and explained the situation to him, that we unfortunately had to cancel, and he completely understood our need to cancel his reservation. He assured me there should be no problem with the cancellation since there was plenty time to make the cancellation.*I logged onto the airbnb website to cancel the reservation and upon doing so, I read when I had progressed to the screen to cancel the reservation the message said, If you cancel now, you'll receive a **% refund minus the airbnb service fee. *This seemed completely unreasonable to me, especially since the owner of the airbnb had no problem with the cancellation. I immediately went back to his airbnb website and clearly read, Cancel within ** hours of booking and ** days before check-in to get a full refund. I am clearly outside of the ** day limit before check-in so I expect that I will receive a full refund totaling $****.**.*Please respond to this email asap so this confusion can be cleared up. Thank you.
