Long term reservation in a shared house in New Taipei, Taiwan. Problem: My host is setting up an "arrangement" in which he would collect a monthly fee (non-refundable) to up-keep the house and purchase amenities as he deems necessary. Airbnb prohibits additional monetary deposits to be made outside of the platform, but since it is non-refundable and he is not considering a deposit, I can't argue that he shouldn't do it because of Airbnb rules. He mentions in this arrangement document that if you pay into the arrangement, you won't be liable for the **,*** NTD that he has set up through Airbnb as a security deposit. I am considering not agreeing to this arrangement since I don't want to provide to a fund which if not fully spent (he chooses what to spend on), will not be returned to me (as he stipulated in the document). So if I decide not to, I will be liable for up to **,*** NTD according to the security deposit on my reservation, which I am completely okay with. My question in this instance would be, should an appliance break because of old age or regular wear and tear, can the host make a claim for the full price of the appliance, even though the appliance was not new at the time of the start of the reservation? also, is this type of arrangement allowed by Airbnb? He plans to copy de document as a message sent to the reservations to provide a written record of the agreement. I can send the document should it be necessary.
