The issue in GetHuman-daphnete's own words
I came to lesbos for a seminar and made a reservation at the Kipos Studios apts. in Molyvos lesbos. When I arrived, the proprietors were Elizabeth's parents who provide all the services and help to the guests, but do not speak any English. All is all done in gestures. Elizabeth, who is not present on the premises is the one who is in contact with the guests and makes all the arrangements. I had no internet reception in my room, and the toilet didn't stop running and leaking water on the floor (also making alot of noise). Because I did not have a local calling service on my phone, I could only communicate via whatsap, and I depended on it to make arrangements for transportation and be in touch with people who were in my seminar, so I was helpless without internet. It was my first time in Lesbos and I was not familiar with the place. I could not communicate with Elizabeth's father to explain the situation. I tried to gesture about the toilet, but there was no understanding. The next morning I decided to move to another hotel because the parents could not provide help. I had to leave by *:** for my seminar and the parents did not yet arrive in the office so I could try and make a call to Elizabeth from their office and explain my situation. I had to leave and could not notify anyone. Later that day, I wrote Elizabeth a letter and explained to her the situation. She asked me then why I didn't ask for another room. She said the internet reception would probably be better in another room. How would I know that there is better reception in other rooms, or that there are even other rooms available? And in any case did not have anyone to talk to that morning. She also indicated that because of my booking she had to turn away others. I can't assume anything, but when I arrived, her parents showed me a few rooms that I could choose from, so the rooms were not all booked. She refused to give me a full refund and only refunded a small amount. I am willing to pay for the one night I was there, of course, but not for the remaining * nights that I was charged for.
