My husband and I booked a trip to Naples for a ****-**** stay. We promptly signed and returned the contract at ** days from arrival date. Two days later we heard in the news of the Red Tide State of Emergency that has been declared in the immediate area of our stay. In addition to having to stay away from beaches* water, my daughter and I both have respiratory issues, which we've heard can cause issues, even inland. Needless to say, this is a very unusual circumstance and we don't want to chance health issues moving forward with our trip. What is the cancellation policy in a circumstance like this? The owner is telling us Airbnb will charge her if we cancel and we will be responsible for this charge.
