I RESERVED THREE SEAST TO FARO ON ** MAY AT *.**AM - RETURNING ON ** MAY AT **.**AM. *THE FLIGHT NUMBERS ARE *E**** AND E****. *MY BOOKING REFERENCE IS ***XZJ**Unfortunately, one of my friends had an accident yesterday - she broke her arm and had it put in a plaster cast. however she had to return to hospital today where she was advised that there were complications, and the result is that she has to be admitted to hospital for an operation.*My other friend and I are unable to travel as we will have to be on hand to look after her and her dogs.*I am sorry to say we will have to cancel our flights* postpone them to another time. *Can you let me know if a refund would be possible? Also my friends paid extra for two **kg(s) bags. Can they expect to receive a refund?*The names of my friends are -*Ms Alex Macauley*Mrs Gayna Beresford**I look forward to your reply.**Maureen Dunn

I called Aer Lingus directly by telephone. I described the situation we found ourselves in. I gave him details of flights - both outward and inward, flight numbers and my booking reference. I said that my friend has to be admitted to hospital and she will need my help as she has no family. A very nice man told me to get a letter from my friends doctor, and he gave me a number to ring to arrange refunds for our flights.
