GetHuman3532357's Service Outage issue with AT&T from September 2019

Help with my AT&T issue
The issue in GetHuman3532357's own words
We have been ATT customers since July of ****--over ** years. But we have been without landline service for over two weeks and can't get anyone to answer ATT's repair lines, nor do they give us an option to get a call back. Our number was accidentally ported to T-Mobile. Allison in Topeka got it ported back to ATT, but it still doesn't work. An automated system told us the problem was in our equipment, not ATT's but again, there was no offer to send a tech to inspect our inside equipment. I KNOW however, the problem is not inside our four walls. If ATT can't get us a working line the only thing I know to do is to go to Verizon--not what we want to do. Our email is below, but I'd prefer a telephone call to *******-****.

How GetHuman3532357 fixed the problem
When I first contacted ATT a robot answered the call and said it would check the line. After checking it said the line was working, and the problem was with our equipment--but it didn't offer to send a rep to help us determine what the problem was with our equipment. I knew the problem was not with our line--that it was in their system. I harassed ATT until they sent a rep. He resolved the problem and said it was with ATT's system. The story is much longer than this--like * weeks long. My biggest complaint is that EVERY time I called repair, I got a recording that said, "Due to unusually high call volume you may experience an extended wait . . . ." If the call volume is always unusually high, that means the "unusually high call volume" is the norm, and ATT needs to hire more people to answer the repair service lines. It appears to me they are more concerned about their profits (and I own some ATT stock) than they are their long-suffering customers.
