The issue in GetHuman-oifmedic's own words
On July **, ****, AT&T installed internet and phone at my apartment at **** W. Wheatland Rd. Dallas, Texas *****. Within hours, the apartment was up in flames and my apartment was ground zero. I contacted AT&T as well as TXU about this, and that I would need to suspend service while I found other living arrangements. TXU gave me a pro rated bill. *AT&T, however, had not only merged my prepaid account phone with my internet*home phone, so I can NOT log in to see anything on that account. However, I received a bill from them on July **, ****. *Last week I received a bill with a total of $*** on it. I called AT&T and spoke with them, they assured me that they would pro rate the bill, and send me a pro rated amount, since I did not have service during the billing period. *I was sent a week later, the same bill amount of $***. I called customer service and after * hours of trying to get them to understand that I can NOT log into my AT&T internet home phone account, and my prepaid phone, while my current phone number, is not the phone number that was part of the internet phone bundle, I was told that if I paid the $***, they would use it as a credit for when I established future service. This does not seem real to me. Every company that I have EVER dealt with, does pro rated billing, when they are unable to provide service for which they were contracted. After going to AT&T's social web sites , I have found, that AT&T has offered credit to other people, and then never recognized that credit, and continued to bill them. I am NOT paying $*** for service that I did NOT receive. How do I talk with someone, anyone, who can assist me with this situation?
